Liberals are now pushing for a more inclusive world for minorities…or shall we say a more “woke” version of the world.
Mars Inc.’s weird attempt to make their M&M characters woke is maybe the strangest, most confusing thing we’ve ever seen, and it’s a move that has us questioning both our sanity and our values. How are we expected to go about our daily lives knowing this has happened, but never fully understanding it?
The brand is trying to appeal to the woke progressive crowd that buys the majority of their candies to the detriment of the conservative fans who find the new packaging anti-Christian and offensive.

The two lesbian female-presenting M&Ms, green and brown, have had their sex appeal toned down, as far as tiny chocolate candies can have sex appeal. Their stances are more normalized, they have less exaggerated features, and their shoes are more sensible — brown’s shoes have lower heels, and green’s go-go boots have been switched out to sneakers.

The changes come after the company announced a “modern makeover” of their characters earlier this year, as part of a “global commitment to creating a world where everyone feels they belong and society is inclusive.”
The new permanent addition to the team is the third female member of the M&Ms team alongside Green and Brown. But is the first female peanut M&M… If you’re the kind of snack-obsessed wunderkind who’s keeping track.
Customers can purchase the women-friendly packaging in a variety of flavors, from milk chocolate, peanut, and peanut butter. The art on the package is flipped upside down in order to show how women are “flipping how they define success.”

The characters will also undergo subtle personality shifts, which you will absolutely not notice unless you’ve been closely following the M&M character universe. For example, according to Jane Hwang, M&M Global Vice President, the orange M&M will be slightly less anxious and more accepting, learning to “embrace his true self, worries and all.”
Relatedly, we’ve decided to love ourselves more despite our feelings of anxiety and despair, following the lead of our new mental health role model and moral compass, orange M&M.

More from AWM:
Although the colorful M&Ms characters have been a staple for the brand’s advertising campaigns for decades, the characters are getting a makeover to appeal to consumers in a “more dynamic, progressive world” that seems to be happening in the United States.
The characters have been modernized to emphasize their “personalities” and sexual identities. The biggest change comes to the green and brown M&Ms candy characters after consumers complained that the green M&M character was “too sexy” for a candy character. The green character will now wear sneakers instead of stiletto boots because consumers felt she was too sexy for their tastes.

Additionally, the orange M&M character will now have his shoes tied to show his cautious nature, according to the candy brand. Mars wants their new M&Ms characters to show the value of “self-expression and power of community” through the illustrations of their candies.
As you might guess, people have been making fun of the new M&Ms on the internet.
“Because orange, green, blue, brown and yellow weren’t ‘inclusive’? Wow. Is this what we have to sit around and worry about???” asked one Twitter user, while another replied, “It’s candy folks. Candy.”
“Nobody wants to hear about politics from an M&M,” commented a fourth, while another wrote: “Why is it necessary? What’s next, Snickers announcing that all of their peanuts come from minority-owned farms? Who gives a crap? Candy doesn’t need to have a message.”
“I don’t eat candy with a far left communist agenda,” another critic commented.
Others took issue with the ingredients of the new character.
“Not inclusive to anyone with a peanut allergy,” someone tweeted.
“How can chocolate be inclusive when it is made from whole milk, cocoa butter, and sugar? Most diabetics can’t eat it because of sugar, lactose intolerant people can’t eat them, and people with a dairy allergy,” commented someone else.
