The Massive Peanut Butter Recall Has Expanded To Even More Brands!

Multiple products containing the recently recalled Jif Peanut Butter from Jif have been recalled by the US Food and Drug Administration. Salmonella concerns at M. Smucker Co.

Several products made with Jif peanut butter have been recalled by Country Fresh, Taher, Inc., Garden Cut, LLC, Mary’s Harvest Fresh Foods, Inc., and Coblentz Chocolate Co.



Following a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Senftenberg infections linked to certain Jif peanut butter products produced at the company’s Lexington, Kentucky facility, J.M. Smucker Company issued a recall last week.

The Jif peanut butter recall included lots 1274425 – 2140425, which included creamy, crunchy, natural, no added sugar, and reduced-fat peanut butter.

The FDA is investigating the salmonella outbreak, which has sickened 14 people and resulted in two hospitalizations, in collaboration with the CDC and state and local partners.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and others with compromised immune systems. Fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and abdominal cramps are all symptoms of the food-borne illness.

Salmonella infection can cause the organism to enter the bloodstream, causing more serious illnesses like arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve any recalled Jif brand peanut butter and should dispose of it immediately.

Country Fresh has issued a recall for certain fresh-cut fruit snack trays and fruit snack cups that contain Jif peanut butter. The items are packaged in clear, square, or round plastic. They were distributed in over 20 states through various retail outlets.

There have been no reports of illness linked to the recalled products at Country Fresh. Fruit snack trays and fruit snack cups are no longer being produced by the company.

In addition, Taher, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, is recalling its 6.3 ounce “Fresh Seasons Power Packs” that contain Jif Peanut Butter. The products were sold in retail stores and vending machines throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Taher’s products have not been linked to any illnesses as of yet.

Garden Cut, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has brought back Garden Cut products containing 0.750z JifPeanut Butter Cup. The company has stopped producing and distributing the items. Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin were among the states that received the product.

Mary’s Harvest Fresh Foods, based in Portland, Oregon, has also issued a recall for perishable Celery Peanut Butter Cup G&G and Apple Peanut Butter Cup G&G that contain the Jif Creamy Peanut Butter To Go 1.5oz. Cups. The recalled products have a 9-day shelf life and were distributed to retailers and supermarkets in Oregon and Washington from February 19, 2022 to May 23, 2022.

Coblentz Chocolate, based in Walnut Creek, Ohio, has also recalled a number of chocolate products containing Jif peanut butter with lot numbers 1315-2140. The recalled products were sold nationwide between November 12, 2021, and May 21, 2022, at Coblentz Chocolate retail stores and other retail locations.

The recalled products should be disposed of or returned to the respective companies by consumers.
