What Southwest Is Doing To A Pilot That Exercised His First Amendment Rights Is Sickening!
Southwest Airlines is now conducting an internal investigation into a number of reports that one of their pilots said, “Let’s go, Brandon” over the intercom during one of their flights.
The airline released a statement regarding the incident last Sunday where they condemned the actions by the pilot. He allegedly said, “Let’s Go Brandon” over the intercom, and this is an anti-Biden phrase that has come into prominence after a Nascar race where the crowd was chanting “F**** Joe Biden.” The flight where this allegedly occurred originated in Houston and was destined for Albuquerque.
“The Southwest Team takes pride in providing a welcoming, comfortable, safe, and respectful environment for the millions of customers who fly with us each year. Southwest does not condone Employees sharing their personal political opinions while on the job serving our Customers, and one Employee’s individual perspective should not be interpreted as the viewpoint of Southwest and its collective 54,000 Employees,” the airline said in a statement.
“Southwest is conducting an internal investigation into the recently reported event and will address the situation directly with any employee involved while continuing to remind all employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable,” the airline continued. “Southwest does not tolerate any behavior that encourages divisiveness, as it does not reflect the Southwest Hospitality and inclusiveness for which we are known and strive to provide each day on every flight.”
One of the first reports of the “Let’s Go Brandon” phenomenon occurring was when Associated Press reporter Colleen Long noted it. This alleged incident quickly spread online as a plethora of liberal pundits and other yes-men and women condemned the use of this phrase. Indeed, one CNN contributor compared the “Let’s go, Brandon” phrase to “Long Live ISIS.”
CNN analyst Asha Rangappa issued the following characterization of the phrase: “As an experiment, I’d love for an [sic] @SouthwestAir pilot to say ‘Long live ISIS’ before taking off,” she tweeted. “My guess is that 1) the plane would be immediately grounded; 2) the pilot fired; and 3) a statement issued by the airline within a matter of hours”
Before working at CNN, Asha Rangappa had also worked as a senior lecturer at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. She also was a former FBI agent, and she has become well-known for being in a group of people that indiscriminately compared conservative people to terrorists. This trend began with just pro-life leaders, but it has now metastisized to concerned parents at school board meetings.
There were plenty of others who were hurling accusations of terrorism at the airline because they had relaxed their COVID-19 vaccine mandates after they had been forced to cancel as many as 1,800 flights. Lindy Li, described by Vanity Fair as a “Biden Operative” tweeted on Saturday that the “CEO opposes Biden’s vaccine mandate & won’t fire anyone who defies it, thus condoning bioterrorism.” Li, who also called the pilot “mentally impaired,” recently appeared on CNN to denounce the “heinous” Texas pro-life law that protects unborn children with a fetal heartbeat from being aborted.
“Southwest pilot screams out ‘Let’s go Brandon’ over the intercom,” tweeted Turn Texas Black falsely. “RT if you won’t book with Southwest Airlines unless this pilot is fired.”
