Whenever someone talks about tax cuts the first thing liberal politicians do is ask, “How are you going to pay for that tax cut?” Just annoying as hell, amiright?
It never fails. Liberals always try to immediately shut down a conversation about tax cuts by asking the proponent how they are going to pay for the tax cut.
So I got to thinking, Is there an actual cost to tax cuts? The short answer is absolutely not. Tax cuts do not have a cost attached to them. Spending is not affected by a tax cut. A tax cut is simply the government saying that a worker gets to keep more of the money that he/she earned. How does that affect spending? It doesn’t.
Let’s think about it this way. You have a box. You put one dollar into the box and close the lid. Sometime later a salesman approaches you and shows you a candy bar for sale. The candy bar costs one dollar. You open the box, take the dollar out, and you hand the dollar to the salesman who then gives you the candy bar. This is called spending.
But what if you never put the dollar into the box? Does that affect spending? Not at all. Did the act of not putting a dollar into the box cost anything? Absolutely not. There was no cost involved because there was no action of spending. There was no spending because there was no money in the box.
When liberal politicians ask, “How are you going to pay for that tax cut,” what they are really saying is they are planning on spending money they don’t already have, and you are affecting their ability to spend that non-existent money when you allow the people who earn money to keep more of what they earn. They’re letting you know, very openly, that they’re going to spend money no matter what, and they would prefer to be able to rely on that not yet accrued money rather than allow the people who earned it to keep more of what they earned. If they tell you something different they’re trying to sell you something with or without a box of money.
So, now you can explain to your liberal friends that a tax cut doesn’t have to be paid for, because it has no affect on spending whatsoever, and that you understand that what they’re really saying is they prefer that some government bureaucrat spends your heard-earned money instead of you, because government knows how to spend your money better than you.
