A 15-year-old girl living in Eatonville, Washington is now being forced to give up her right to privacy just so that she could play volleyball on her high school team! Without approval from her parents, the high school forced the young girl to wear a tracking device on her ankle so that the school could track her every movement and make sure that she is following all of the social distancing rules.
This TraceTag tacking device is being used by the school, and it is from a company called Triax.
Triax noted on their website that an alarm will sound if the user is violating social distancing rules.
One of the main purposes of the Proximity Trace, or the TraceTag (TM) is to affix it to a hardhat or worn on the body for contact tracing and proximity tracing. They spin it this way, “Together we can keep people safer by maintaining social distances in the workplace and help support various strategies for organizations and their assistance to people who want to get back to work.” Of course, there is no word on the fact that the device can also violate a high school student’s rights just because she wants to play volleyball.
Her mother spoke anonymously to the Post Millennial and said that her daughter was at a practice for the public school’s volleyball team and texted her saying that she had been asked to put on a volleyball team. However, the team didn’t answer any follow-up texts or calls. The mother assumed that she was simply playing during practice, but no one at the school was able to answer her questions, so the mother took it upon herself to drive to the school building.
The mother spoke to an employee at the school office and then she spoke to a coach. It was then that she was informed about the ankle monitoring program where her daughter was informed that she would be put on this program because she was unvaccinated. The bureaucrats at this school allegedly came up with this program as a way to trace the students in the event of a positive COVID test.
The mother identified the coach as Gavin Kralik, and she informed him that the device was only used for indoor sports. However, these devices were not mentioned in the school’s back-to-school manual, nor was the mother alerted that there was an opt-out policy. These school professionals really dropped the ball, no question about it.
