Indiana Congressman Jim Banks is a veteran of Afghanistan. On Wednesday, the Republican started a twitter war with Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar. He called her out after she made some inflammatory remarks about getting PTSD from the recent news from Iran.
“Rep. Ilhan Omar complained she’s ‘stricken with PTSD’ because of recent events in the Middle East. This is a disgrace and offensive to our nation’s veterans who really do have PTSD after putting their life on the line to keep America safe,” Banks tweeted.

In all fairness to Omar, she is a refugee. As a child, her homeland was ravaged by war. Her fans are quick to raise that point. It doesn’t hold up when you put what she said and the way she said it into context. It’s clear from her full statement that she was intentionally playing the victim card only for the soundbite value, not from any real distress.
“I feel ill a little bit because of everything that is taking place and I think every time I hear conversations around war, I find myself being stricken with PTSD,” She said on stage at a news conference with her far-left cronies in the Congressional Progressive Caucus. They were all emotionally demanding that Congress stop President Donald Trump from standing up to Iran.
“Call the medic!” Laura Ingraham posted. “@IlhanMN says she feels ‘ill a little bit’ with all this talk of conflict with Iran. Well, I’m sure her dismissive talk of al Qaeda and 9/11 made a lot of Americans feel way more ill (and angry).”
With all the accusations floating around Omar, you would expect her to keep her head down. She allegedly married her brother. On top of that she apparently cheated on her taxes to cover it up.
She was married to another man at the same time, which would be bigamy. Since all this came out in the news, that husband also left her. Even before he left, she replaced him with another lover, who also happened to be married at the time. Allegations are floating around that she even used campaign money to pay for their love vacations. Instead, she can’t help feeding the flames of controversy.
When Omar and her fanatical supporters made a big deal about the lawmaker’s childhood, both Ingraham and Banks pushed back. “You can’t change the subject,” Banks replied. “Your words and actions at today’s press conference reveal your feelings toward our soldiers serving abroad and the video speaks for itself.”
That post included a clip of Omar laughing and giggling with Rep. Rashida Tlaib posted by Rep. Jody Hice. The comments read “absolutely shameful. WATCH @ilhanMN and other @HouseDemocrats make light of American lives lost overseas. Our brave men and women in uniform deserve our utmost respect and applause for their service and sacrifice — not mockery and laughter.”
No @IlhanMN – you can’t change the subject.
