Some Are Deeply Offended By Bill Belichick’s Shirt. Are You OK With It? (Photos)

Bill Belichick’s clothing choices have long been a fashion statement. But his latest shirt has caused a stir on Twitter.

He appears to have made a political statement.

In a photo posted by Twitter user Kathryn Mastromarino, who eventually made her account private after the massive Twitter reaction, Belichick was pictured with a young girl. He was wearing a sleeveless shirt, showing a turban-wearing man getting attacked by a dog, while a soldier with a rifle smiles behind him. The shirt reads, “Life is great.”

The shirt is sold by Jim Amann, a former Navy SEAL and current L.A. police officer who runs the website TridentK9.org. Amann told the Boston Herald that the novelty tee “tells a cartoon story of a deployment in Afghanistan where SEAL operators are chasing bad guys.”

As Amann describes it, the shirt “tells a cartoon story of a deployment in Afghanistan where SEAL operators are chasing bad guys.” The website suggests wearing the shirt to “celebrate the end of Osama Bin Laden.”

Not surprising that such a shirt found its way to Bill Belichick. He has been a strong supporter of the troops and has even employed the stories of American military heroism in his coaching, as he did in 2013 when he took the team to see “Lone Survivor,” and in 2015 to watch “American Sniper.”

Amann was unaware that the five-time Super Bowl winning coach was wearing the item.

“I’m surprised,” he said. “I’m a big fan of his. I respect him as a leader.”

Naturally, Belichick cut the sleeves off his shirt, but they’re sold sleeves-on.
