Liberal Exposes DQ Manager For ‘Offensive’ Sign, Plan Epically Backfires

Wisconsin Dairy Queen owner Kevin Scheunemann “politically incorrect” sign he posted on his store door offended an out-of-towner who took to social media to complain. Instead of receiving sympathy from the public, the liberal snowflake, however, received a backlash.

Kevin posted the sign 4 years ago and no one had enough of a problem with the message. The small sign informed customers that freedom of speech will not be infringed in the establishment and that those who feel offended should note that the restaurant is not a safe space to erode others’ constitutional rights.

“This restaurant is politically incorrect. We have been known to say Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, God Bless America. We salute and honor the flag, give thanks to our Troops, Police Offices, and Firefighters. Give thanks for the USA and give free sundaes to Veterans on Veterans Day. If this offends you, you are welcome to contact the owner […] and arrange a designated ‘snowflake safe space’ a minimum 24 hours in advance. In God We Trust,” the sign reads.

Reports said that the owner first posted the sign after a customer complained about the Christian music he heard being played in the Kewaskum Dairy Queen. Instead of freeing the store of the music, Scheunemann felt it was necessary to post a warning to potential customers about their values, which revolve around “God and country.”

“I felt the sign was appropriate to hang in terms of being transparent about the views of the owner and staff supporting God and country,” Scheunemann explained to CBS 58. He added, “It just seems that those kinds of values and principles are becoming controversial in society.”

However, an Oregon woman who goes by the name Ashley Coleman on Facebook recently got offended on the sign. She then took to Facebook to her disappointment. “I find this extremely offensive. Please speak with the franchise owner.”

Unfortunately, the community had voiced their support for the sign. Business owners in the area also came to Scheunemann’s defense.

The Dairy Queen’s corporate office replied that they disagree with the sign but won’t demand its removal.

“American Dairy Queen Corporation does not encourage our independently owned and operated franchisees to post non-business related messages in their locations or on their external reader boards. This sign expresses the views of this independent owner only and does not speak for ADQ Corporation or any of our other independent franchise owners. We expect our franchisees and employees to treat every person who walks through our doors with the utmost dignity and respect. Nothing less is acceptable.”

Additionally, Scheunemann said he’d be willing to make accommodations for anyone uncomfortable with the declarations made by the poster.
