A member of NATO is now throwing their weight around against President Biden, and it is a truly fascinating thing to see…
That’s right. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is now backing out after inadvertently illustrating just how useless the North American Treaty Organization is and how the Western sanctions against Russia are totally toothless when all is said and done.
Turkey is a member of NATO and they absolutely have good relations with both Ukraine and Russia, and they said that while they condemn the Russian aggression, President Erdogan is not planning on imposing sanctions on Russia because it would affect the energy industry in his country and his people.
“We are buying nearly half of the natural gas we use from Russia,” Erdogan told reporters Friday while flying back home from a NATO summit in Brussels, as noted by Reuters. “Separately, we are making our Akkuyy Nuclear Power Plant with Russia. We cannot set these aside.”
He added, “So there is nothing that can be done here. We must maintain our sensitivity on this issue. Firstly, I can’t leave my people in the cold of the winter. Secondly, I cannot halt our industry. We must defend these.”
The best way to sum it up would be that Erdogan feels that he must put Turkey first and prioritize the needs of his people before he can proceed with lashing out at Russia over their invasion with Ukraine.
There is no question that this is a very pragmatic approach by President Erdogan, and it almost makes some of us that are American pine for a leader such as him. The only thing Biden does is give us self-destructive, virtue-signaling reactions, and his sanctions on Russia are not really doing against them but are hurting Americans instead.
Turkey shares a maritime border in the Black Sea with both Ukraine and Russia and they previously offered to mediate the peace talks between the two feuding countries.
Erdogan said that he is planning on calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge them both to end the war.
The Turkish president also admitted that he will not punish Russia if it would indirectly punish his own people. This underscores the difference between a leader who cares about his own country’s welfare and one who is merely a globalist puppet who is concerned with a hollow political theater.
Erdogan also realizes that Turkey will not be able to alienate Russia if they decide to virtue-signal simply due to the fact that it would make his citizens freeze to death because the supply of Russia natural gas would be cut off.
By the same token, it would be nice if America had a leader that would realize that the sanctions he is putting on Russia are only hurting his own people. Biden is only destroying the energy independence of America by his actions.
Russia is absolutely going to benefit from the global energy crisis, and they know full well that it is being exacerbated by the war in Ukraine.
This illustrates that Russia can become a tremendous bully to other countries simply just by threatening to cut off their gas supply.
Biden continues to commit blunder after blunder, and it could very plunge us into World War III, especially when you consider that we may encounter a severe food shortage because of our reliance on Russian wheat.
“The price of these sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia, it’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well, including European countries and our country as well,” Biden said last week.
When these liberals were singing the praises of Biden, they had no idea that his inept leadership could usher in a food shortage in one of the most powerful countries on Earth. But sadly, this is the state of America with Biden at the helm.
