The Warning A Teacher Left On Her Daughter’s Homework Left Her Seeing RED!

This teacher came off as a total drill sergeant, especially after a parent read the note she put on her daughter’s homework!

For most kids in first grade, school is supposed to be a place where the teachers make every effort to cultivate and praise learning, especially if these students exceed expectations. Of course, there is no parent who would ever imagine that a trusted educator would attempt to hinder the progress of their child. However, Kansas mom Brenda Hatcher learned the hard way in this woke culture that some teachers try to discourage accelerated learning.

Brenda picked up her seven-year-old daughter Alyssa from school and she did her normal look through her child’s backpack. After the caring mother checked her child’s work, she couldn’t believe her eyes when she spotted a correction in bright red ink at the top of Alyssa’s grammar worksheet. However, she was even more surprised when she learned that it wasn’t the typical error that merited the teacher’s scorn.

Hatcher shared a photo of her daughter’s paper on Facebook, and she expressed outrage at the teacher’s comments, which did not have anything to do with the child’s homework or any error at all by the child. Instead, the teacher chastised the child for her ability to write in cursive! “Stop writing in cursive. You have had several warnings.”

One thing that was even more disturbing to Brenda was that the teacher’s chiding wasn’t even pointing to the child’s homework at all. Instead, she was pointing out the child’s signature at the name section at the top!

To say that Brenda Hatcher was confused and incensed over the teacher taking issue with her child’s practice of writing her name in cursive would be an understatement.

“Alyssa is 7!!! Not only is her mother a military veteran but, she took the time to teach her very young child how to write in cursive… This is her teacher’s response… What is wrong with today’s school system/society???”

Brenda expressed some concerns over the teacher’s chastisement and how it could possibly discourage her daughter and fellow classmates from going the extra mile. She and other mothers on social media pointed out that this type of response from the teacher was merely going to make an atmosphere of conformity instead of commitment and dedication.

Brenda Hatcher further explained that Alyssa doesn’t do this sort of thing all the time. She added that writing in cursive used to be encouraged rather than punished.

“The thing is is that she doesn’t write everything in cursive,” she commented. “That’s her own personal signature… I had to learn to write in cursive when I was young… This should never be something a teacher frowns upon.”

Brenda also pointed out the apparent hypocrisy of the teacher, noting how she herself had made mockery of writing on the note she had given to Alyssa.

“And apparently she can’t even get things right herself as an adult… Considering her little mess at the beginning of her lovely note… To a 7 year old…” she wrote.

Either way, Brenda remains proud of her little girl, regardless of whether her teacher disapproves of her handwriting style or not.
