A Child Rapist Ended Up In Jail, Who His Cellmate Was Would….

A child rapist ended up in jail, and guess who his first cellmate was? It was definitely a tremendous dose of poetic justice, to say the least.

This child rapist received life in prison, and he was transferred to his new cell to begin his sentence. Unfortunately for him, he quickly discovered that he was being housed with the older brother of one of his child victims. You can probably guess what happened next…

Cowlitz Superior Court Judge Michael Evans sentenced 70-year-old Robert Munger to a minimum of 43 years in prison. The judge made sure that Munger was convicted for raping and molesting several children, and the judge acknowledged that it was a “sick and depraved scene”, according to the Spokesman-Review.

As fate would have it, his victims no longer have to worry about Munger being able to serve his sentence in peace.

It was only six months into his prison term that authorities confirmed that Munger was brutally beaten to death by none other than the older brother of one of his child victims. Munger died after he was punched, kicked, and stomped on the head after Shane Goldsby found out that Munger had molested his little sister.

Munger was a 70-year-old convicted child rapist who died after Goldsby had allegedly hit “Munger in the face and head area about 14 times, (stomped) on his head at least four times and (kicked) a couple more times before walking away and being taken into custody by Airway Heights Corrections Guards,” according to court documents obtained by KHQ.

In an interview, Goldsby said that he was taken aback by the fact that Munger was his sister’s rapist. He is claiming that he immediately requested a new cellmate to the guards but he was denied the request.

“I was in shock,” Goldsby said. “I was like, ‘what the f***?’… This stuff doesn’t happen. You’re talking the same institution, the same unit, the same pod in the same cell as this dude. That’s like hitting the jackpot in the casino seven times.”

In an interview, Goldsby said that he was taken aback by the fact that Munger was his sister’s rapist. He is claiming that he immediately requested a new cellmate from the guards but he was denied the request.

They ultimately would charge Goldsby with premeditated murder, but he said that he doesn’t believe that the violent reaction was his fault. He believes that the pairing was way too “coincidental” for it to be mere chance and thinks that he was “set up” by correctional officers.

Goldsby maintains that he had never intended on taking revenge, but he was constantly goaded by Munger, who told him just about every sordid detail that he did regarding how he abused Goldsby’s little sister. DOC policy is even supporting his complaint, saying that the two inmates should have never came into contact with each other, much less sharing the same cell.

“He kept… giving me details about what happened and what he did. About the photos and videos of him doing this stuff, and it was building up,” Goldsby said. “They put me in a position that I shouldn’t even be in. This shouldn’t have happened, at all. You’re talking about this dude, who did some sick twisted things to my little sis. My family. My blood. My life. And you want to put me face-to-face with this dude?”

Goldsby believes he was set up by the police, who he says he “completely humiliated” a few years prior. He has been serving a sentence for stealing a police cruiser and ramming it into a state patrol vehicle, injuring a trooper inside. As his interview concluded, he gave one final message to his sister.

“To my little sis, I say I love you [name redacted] so much. And I apologize about what I did,” Goldsby said. “And I hope I don’t get life. I hope I see you again. I hope to God that I see you again. I hope to God that if I don’t see you again, then you know why I did what I did. That I love you and I always will. And that I apologize that I made that choice. Just keep that head up. I love you. I always will. Get a hold of me someday.”

And yes indeed, Shane Goldsby is facing life in prison for what he did to his cellie.

While taking justice into one’s own hands rarely ends well, it’s hard to argue that Goldsby’s reaction wouldn’t be the same one many of us would have if we were forced to face our loved one’s rapist.
