Republican congressman Jim Jordan is definitely making some waves lately, and he is saying some things that will absolutely resonate with conservative followers of politics such as myself. Jordan made an announcement on May 5th during an appearance on Fox News, and it will be of interest to patriots everywhere. According to Jordan, GOP lawmakers now will have enough votes to remove that RINO that we all know and love, Liz Cheney, from her leadership posts in the House!
If you recognize Liz Cheney’s last name, it’s because her father was vice president during the George W. Bush years. Liz is currently the GOP representative from Wyoming and she is the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference. However, she continues to side with the Democrats on a myriad of issues consistently. Of course, many authentic GOP members have accused her of abandoning conservatism altogether. However, now Jim Jordan is ready to hold Liz Cheney accountable for her attacks on American conservatism. He cited Cheney’s attacks on former President Trump, and he enthusiastically noted that Cheney “definitely needs to go.”
“SHe’s a Republican conference chair,” Jordan explained. “You can’t have a Republican conference chair taking a position where 90 percent of her party will disagree with her. YOu also can’t have a Republican party chair who consistently speaks out against an individual whom 74 million Americans voted for.”
According to Jordan, he was already considering removing Cheney from her position as long as “three months ago”, simply because of the fact that you just “can’t be the chair of the conference and consistently speak out against the leader of our party and continually speak out against the positions that a tremendous amount of people in your party have regarding various issues, especially considering that the majority of our country, I think, agrees with them on that.”
The good news would have to be that Jordan isn’t the only House Republican that wants to oust Cheney from her leadership role. Several other leading GOP members have endorsed the move, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise. Jordan predicted that these moves to remove Cheney from leadership will occur early next week.
This potential move from Jordan also comes on the heels of the fact that Cheney has already been censured in her home state of Wyoming after she voted to impeach President Trump after the capitol riot on January 6th. “I took an oath to the constitution that compelled me to vote for the impeachment,” she noted at the time.
However, when the Wyoming legislature elected to censure Cheney, they also were in agreement with Jordan, calling for her to “immediately resign” for her office.
