There’s little debate over President Donald Trump’s focus on illegal immigration and border security. However, the details of the nation’s southern border are what is up for question.
Even some Democrats are unable to agree that the southern border is going through a crisis.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Democrat of New Mexico, denied that there was a hint of a national security crisis. However, she is now asking help from the federal government to deal with illegal immigrants.
Just February this year, Lujan dismissed Trump’s claims of the border being a threat to national security. Lujan also ordered the National Guard troops from her state and others to withdraw from the region’s border. This suggests that their presence was a “charade” and that it was only a result of the “fear-mongering” of the president regarding the border.
It was also in February that she stated, “I reject the federal contention that there exists an overwhelming national security crisis at the southern border.” She then proceeded to issue an order, withdrawing about 100 of the National Guard troops who had been deployed at the command of Trump. The troops were deployed by the president to “provide desperately needed logistical” assistance to agents of the U.S. Border Patrol.
Three months later, however, it was reported that the governor traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with Kevin McAleenan, Department of Homeland Security’s acting director.
New Mexico Republican Party’s chairman Steve Pearce also states that, “Everything in her actions indicate that she believes there’s a crisis, but yet she will not dedicate the resources to request her colleagues in Congress to start passing the laws that will change the situation there.”
Furthermore, the biggest problem for small New Mexican towns in the border region is that residents and even local officials have no idea how many illegal immigrants have made their way into their towns.

Grisham’s rejection that a crisis exists on our southern border is just more obstruction by democrats to deny the President a victory for the American people. It’s just more resistance by a democrat to obstruct the president.
If there is no crisis, politica, then there is no need for help. Your state is so government assistance driven that you just need to figure out out to rob Peter to pay Paul to handle the non-crisis. Good luck with that.
Okay, since there is no crisis, they all should be dropped off in N. Mexico and California, w/no help from the Feds.
They should build a “fence” blocking New Mexico and the west coast states from the rest of the United States

Lived in El Paso 10 years, I can tell you first hand, there is a border crisis, I could see it every day!
Little if any of the money given to the countries in question ever get to do the nation or the people living in those countries any good it is all confiscated by the leaders. How else do they all become millionaires or billionaires in such poor countries? This is so obvious to those who have the intelligence to understand how these things work. Which does not seem to include the professors in our colleges and universities as well as our pre-college public schools.
Our public schools from K thru a PHD have teachers who are socialists of one kind or another. They are either communist, fascist or marxists. If that is what our children are taught why wouldn’t they support socialism? They do not know at this point that it has never succeeded anywhere in the world although it has been tried thousands of times. Every one of those times with exactly the same outcome! Why would one more time be different just because someone says it will be? That is always the way it is promoted and still it does not work. The only people who ever flourish under socialism is the elites on the very top. Which amounts to less than one percent. The rest barely survive. However, in order to get it installed all these great things are promised but seldom, if ever, delivered. Much like most of the other promises the so called democrats make.
In order for socialism to become the form of government desired by the masses the economy must be very bad where the citizens are all looking for something better. Under President Trump that is not the case and I suspect until we get another so called democrat like Barack Obama it will not be. Obama knew that and since that was his goal he had to destroy our economy. He nearly succeeded and it was up to Hillary to complete that promised, but unexplained, fundamental transformation. Make no mistake about it if he had been able to get the guns confiscated he would have succeeded in his quest to make America a communist nation with a touch of Islam.
Send the illegals to Santa Fe. About 10,000 of them.
It is too bad that the democRatic party, and especially congress democRats seek to resist all attempts of the conservatives to get the illegals under control. So they don’t deserve any aid from the federal gov. So tough titty so-called sanctuary states, and cities. Sock it to -em D,T.
