Baish| In the wake of Muslim Democratic Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic comments and comments minimizing the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks, she has been receiving some harsh criticism. Some might be shocked to find the source of some of that harsh criticism.
Qanta Ahmed, a foreigns relations activist/medical doctor, wrote an op-ed for Fox News this week that explained her take on Omar’s comments, calling the freshman congresswoman a “disgrace” to the Muslim community.
Take a look at the following Fox News report on the matter:
“Ilhan Omar is a disgrace to Islam and doesn’t represent my Muslim religion,” Ahmed wrotein the op-ed.
“Omar continues to be an embarrassment and a disgrace for me and other American Muslims with her outrageous, ignorant, anti-Semitic and now anti-American comments,” she continued.
The medical doctor/activist was speaking of comments made by Omar recently in which she referred to the Muslim terrorists behind the 9/11 Twin Tower attacks as “some people who did something.”
“Omar’s grotesque trivialization of a national tragedy amounts to an explicit denial of 9/11 — a desecration of all the lives erased that awful day,” Ahmed continued. “This denial is inexplicable unless she has strong and covert Islamist sympathies.”
“I see the burden of Sept. 11 on a regular basis, treating brave and selfless first responders who still suffer from complex sleep disorders — including post-traumatic stress — that I specialize in treating,” Ahmed went on.
“In her dismissal of Sept. 11, Omar callously erased the deep suffering of every survivor and family I attend, and everyone else still impacted by the terrorist attacks,” Ahmed added.
“The greatest obscenity in the lie that Omar pedals is that she — along with millions of other Muslims in America — is somehow victimized,” Ahmed stated. “Do not believe this.”
