Chicago police are livid over state prosecutor Kim Foxx’s decision to ultimately drop all charges against the “Empire” actor.

The Gateway Pundit reports, “All charges were dropped! Smollett reached a deferred prosecution deal and the judge sealed his case! Even worse, Jussie Smollett and his lawyer are sticking to the BIG LIE that Smollett was attacked by racist white Trump supporters.”
The Chicago Police Union is requesting a federal probe into the way Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s handled the liberal actor’s case after it was revealed that she had communicated with Smollett’s family members via text message. Text messages also showed that Foxx had spoken to supporters of the actor regarding their concerns about the case.

Tina Tchen a former aide to Barack and Michelle Obama, sent Kim Foxx an email saying, “Hi Kim – I sent an email to your work address I think as well. I wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation. I am on an 8 am flight to nyc but please call me before then. I land about 1015 Chicago time. My cell is [redacted]. Many thanks!”
Foxx texted one of Smollett’s relatives saying that she had talked to the superintendent requesting a favor.
“I’ll keep you posted, “Foxx wrote.
“Omg this would be a huge victory,” the relative of Smollett answered.
“I make no guarantees, but I’m trying.” Foxx replied.

Foxx later recused herself from the Smollett case.
The Police Union is looking to force the federal government to figure out whether or not Kim Foxx broke the law.

Note: We are just expressing our opinion on the events that allegedly occurred. Smollett is yet to be convicted of a crime and is innocent until proven guilty, just like every American is.
I think an investigation is absolutely warranted. From what I’ve seen, R, D, L, and G all have at least a few people in their camps saying the same thing.
If there’s agreement on that across the political spectrum, the message ought to be clear.
