Via Fox News:
Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, raised concerns about Omaha-based lawyer Brian Buescher’s membership as part of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s review of his nomination by President Trump to sit on the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, as first reported by the Catholic News Agency.
Hirono cited the position of Knights of Columbus on same-sex marriage as an example of the inability of the judge to be impartial.
This is just about as nitpicky as you can get when it comes to judicial nominees. Think about all of the judges who came before Buescher who were members of some sort of organization but were able to decide a case on the merits and not on any personal bias. It’s what judges are supposed to do!
