KFC GIVES RESPONSE TO CUSTOMERS UPSET ABOUT SIGN: GET OVER IT, THE SIGN STAYS UP

In Gallipolis, Ohio, a sign on the front door of a Kentucky Fried Chicken is sparking some attention.

The sign prompted praise from people across social media after it went viral — garnering over 4,000 shares and 9,000 likes on Facebook. It was posted to Ohio Going Blue’s page.

“All uniformed police officers eat free everyday all day,”the sign read.

“This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture. As an officer, I do not go into any establishment expecting/wanting ANYTHING to be free or let alone even a discount, whether I’m in uniform or not, and I can tell you other officers feel the same way. We don’t like ‘special treatment.’ The fact is that KFC is acknowledging law enforcement, which is why this was posted,”the administrator of Ohio Going Blue’s page wrote in a comment. “To those who stated that other first responders should also be acknowledged. My answer? ABSOLUTELY.”

Even KFC employees commented on the post in support of officers:

“Yes we feed police officers for free EVERYDAY!!! I work at the Russell KY KFC!! We honor our protectors!! Now we need to give free dinners or food to the veterans also!! I am going to bring it to their attention next time I see the owners.”

“They deserve everything they get and especially if it is free,”another viewer posted.

In an opposite incident, a Virginia police officer was denied service at a restaurant after one of the cooks refused to make food for the officer while she was in uniform.

“You better pull me off the line, because I’m not serving that,”the cook allegedly said, Fox News reported.

“Well your first response as a police officer is anger,”Police Chief Earl Cook said in response. “These are very difficult times right now with our relations with everyone, and to have one of my officers treated in that manner unnecessarily — your first response is anger, then you calm down a bit.”

  • God bless you KFC
I’m so sick of all the hateful attacks against our law enforcement
They risk their lives to protect ours….

  • A few years ago, a long time friend, fulfilled his lifetime dream of owning a restaurant in a nearby town. He makes a great breakfast all day at a fair price and really good deluxe burgers and other gril items and has pleasant helpful people working, but needed to get the word out to nearby areas. I volunteered to help on my day off. I printed fliers and sent them to local police, sheriffs, and firemen and listed, “Uniformed First responders get free meals all day, every day!”

We posted the notice on glass pane next to each of the three entry doors and for the first week every month, put it up on the marque changeable sign. His paid business increased 300% and the free meals he said were well worth it. He has a uniformed first responder or two or three practically all hours of the day. No robberies, no car pilfering, no mischief by teenagers, no security problem.

    • KFC IS TO BE COMMENDED. DON’T YOU FIND IT INTERESTING THAT THEY ARE CRITICIZED FOR DOING SOMETHING DECENT & HEARTFELT?
OUR ENVIRONMENT TODAY SEEMS TO BE NOTHING BUT NEGATIVE & HATEFUL!
PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO BE HAPPY ANYMORE!
      THANK YOU, KFC💜

  • As a veteran, (Retired USAF), I applaud KFC. How ever, For them to offer free meals to all veterans would be making a big dent in profits. Most veterans are not walking around in uniform so any vet with a ID card could go in. Most responders wear uniforms when working and compared to vets, there are very few of them. I would like to thank KFC for what they are now doing, but I think including vets would be a little too much.

  • I support KFC’s offer to uniformed first responders. I think veterans probably appreciate free meals on Veterans’ Day, but probably don’t need to have the “every day” freebies.

I also think the twit at the Virginia restaurant who refused to serve the LEO should be fired. If she is allowed to keep working there, I think every LEO should refuse to eat there–no idea what might be done to their food in the kitchen!
