A passenger was shocked to see his bus driver watching television instead of focusing on the road conditions and traffic, according to a video that was uploaded on the Internet.
53-year-old Barry Lee Fisk from the United Kingdom said that he and his wife decided to take a bus from Manhattan to Woodbury Comments in Orange County.
On Monday, at around 8:30 a.m., Fisk and his wife got on a tour bus operated by the Get Your Guide company.
It was raining when Fisk noticed that the driver, who was not identified, was watching TV shows on his phone instead of focusing on the road.
Fisk grabbed his phone and recorded the driver’s action.
The video shows the driver’s phone resting near the window.
It also shows the driver looking to his left and down in order to watch the tiny screen.
The driver allegedly watched television for about 20 minute during which time the bus was all over the road.
The driver put his life and the lives of all his passengers in danger by not focusing on the road.
Fisk uploaded the video to Facebook, where it went viral.
A spokesperson for Get Your Guide said that the driver was fired.
The company has issued a full refund to Fisk.
Fisk said that he notified the police.
