White House worker arrested by Secret Service agents for attempted murder

A man was taken into custody at the White House by Secret Service agents for an attempted first-degree murder charge.

29-year-old Martese Edwards worked for a government contractor who was hired to do work at the White House.

Edwards had a valid pass when he arrived at the visitor center at noon. When he showed his Maryland driver’s license, he was arrested.

The arrest came after Secret Service agents checked his records against the federal warrant database and found that a man with the same name was wanted by the Prince George’s County police.

The warrant was issued 3 weeks prior to his arrest. Edwards was taken into custody and will likely be extradited to Maryland to face justice.
