A reality TV star, Christina El Moussa from HGTV’s “Flip or Flop”, came under fire after she posted images from a photoshoot she did with her 6-year-old daughter, Taylor, in which they are both wearing bikinis.
On March 24, El Moussa uploaded a photo of herself, Taylor and their new dog, a French bulldog puppy, on Instagram. It was part of a shoot that she did for LSpace, a swimwear line by Monica Wise, according to Fox News.
“Welcome to the family!”, El Moussa captioned the photo.
The image has received more than 44,000 likes in three days, but it also provoked criticism from a number of El Moussa’s followers, some of whom thought the photo was in poor taste.
“I am done with your show you are not making good mother choices,” one user wrote in the comments.
“I agree,” said another commenter. “What mother does this?”
A small debate ensued, with hundreds of people pushing back against El Moussa’s critics.
“I see nothing wrong with this picture,” one person commented. “Damn if I had her body I would be rockin’ a bikini every day. Why do people follow people just to throw negativity around and bully others? We should be better than that. Be kind, treat others as you would want to be treated.”
“Pretty girls!” another wrote. “Not a thing wrong with this pic, I just took a similar one with my daughter!”
El Moussa’s Instagram problems didn’t end there. The following day, she found herself facing backlash again for allowing her 1-year-old son, Braydon, to stand near a swimming pool. The image shows her daughter and a few of her friends playing in the hot tub while Braydon looks on, a few inches away from the water’s edge.
“No one is a hater, but as a mother it is scary to have a toddler being that close to a pool!” one user said.
This time the “Flip or Flop” star fired back.
“1. It’s a beach entry if he fell in it’s only a foot high, he would be ok,” she wrote.
“2. It’s not his first time in or around the pool, but thanks for your ‘concern’ aka judgment. 3. And most importantly I am right there and could be to him in 3 seconds.”
El Moussa recently told ET Online she is doing “really good” after a high-profile divorce from her ex-husband and former co-star, Tarek El Moussa.
“Honestly, I’m doing really good. I’m in a really good place,” she told ET’s Lauren Zima, according to Fox News. “The kids are happy, they’re healthy, Tarek and I are in a good spot. We have a lot of things that we’re working on, cool things coming in the future, so we’re just looking forward.”
