WH: DOJ Should Bring Charges Against James Comey

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is at it again.  Trying to feed truth to the fake news reporters who show up everyday.  This time it was about James Comey who got kicked out of the FBI for incompetence at best and total corruption at worst.

A reporter tried to trap her into saying that President Trump could encourage an investigation into James Comey that would be unethical or even criminal.  The press isn’t used to having someone with the guts and the courage of conviction to take them on.

She began with:

“That’s not the president’s role. That’s the job of the Department of Justice, and certainly something they should look at.”

Sanders took the president out of the equation in the first statement, but then decided to take it and lay it on the line:

“I think if there’s ever a moment where we feel someone’s broken the law, particularly if they’re the head of the FBI, I think that’s certainly something that should be looked at.”

Not specific enough?  It gets better:

“Comey by his own self-admission leaked privileged government information.”

“His actions were improper, and likely could have been illegal. Comey leaked memos to The New York Times…he politicized an investigation by signalizing that he would exonerate Hillary Clinton before he ever interviewed her or other key witnesses.”

I’m thinking this was a trial balloon to gauge whether or not an investigation of Comey would be wise or political suicide.  Comey was a pariah to democrats even though he cleared Hillary of the many felonies she committed.  But since he has gone after Trump, he is their hero, but don’t expect many democrats coming out openly to his defense.  The situation is as fraught with danger for the Democrats as it is for the Republicans.

While in office, Comey wrote at least nine memos of his conversations and interactions with Trump. Some of the documents, which Comey turned over only after leaving the FBI, reportedly contained classified information.

Comey provided at least one of those memos to a friend with instructions to leak information from the documents to The New York Times. That document memorialized Comey’s conversation with Trump in the Oval Office on Feb. 14, the day after Michael Flynn was fired as national security adviser.

Comey claimed in the Feb. 14 memo that Trump asked him to back off of an investigation into Flynn, who was fired for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about conversations he had with Russia’s ambassador.

The decision to charge Comey with federal crimes could wipe out the Russia/Trump witch hunt now being conducted by close Comey friend, Robert Mueller.  Having failed completely to prove collusion between Trump and Russia or even just Trump’s campaign and Russia, Mueller was counting on obstruction of justice against Trump.  A finding of Comey guilty of crimes and corruption could blow the whole thing out of the water.

Isn’t it about time that we make public officials elected or not follow the dame laws everyday Americans follow?  And if they don’t follow them, should they not be sent to the same prisons, they would send you or I in a heartbeat?
