A Florida mother, Connie Serbu , has been arrested for the murder of a ten that she claims raped her six year old daughter. She and her brother took the teen, Xavier Sierra. into the woods and she said they confronted him about the rape and that he had admitted the crime to her and gave her the details of what he did.
She then claims he tried to run away and she gave chase along with her brother, who caught up with him and the wrestled over two guns they had brought with them. Her brother, Vargas Serbu, was shot once in the abdomen and later died from his wounds. Sierra was hit six times and died.
Serbu had called Sierra and offered to pay him for making her a set of bunk beds. She proceeded to pick him up along with her brother, but instead of going back to her place, she took him to some nearby secluded woods, where the confrontation took place.
Serbu was served with an arrest warrant on 25 August this year, on a charge of second-degree murder, according to documents filed with the Collier County Clerk of Courts this week.
‘The arrest brings up a lot of old emotions,’ said Zachary Rodriguez, a friend of Sierra.
‘But it also brings a big weight off my chest and helps me take a deep breath,’ he said. ‘Things are taking a step in the right direction, and it feels good to know justice is being served.’
The case is still being investigated, according to police.
Serbu had already relinquished custody of her two children to her estranged husband in July 2016 due to the homicide investigation.
The couple had been ‘experiencing marital problems’ and had an on and off again relationship since 2014, court documents state.
