It seems that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, had some unrealistic expectations when it came to her husband’s wealth. According to Tom Bower, a royal expert and author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” Meghan is “money-obsessed” and thought that Prince Harry would have “oodles of cash” for her to spend. But, alas, that was not the case.
In an interview with the U.K. Daily Mail, Bower revealed that Meghan was disappointed to learn that Harry didn’t have the kind of money she was expecting. “She had imagined he would be worth hundreds of millions, if not billions, and she is having to make up for it now,” he said. Oh dear, sounds like someone’s plans for unlimited shopping sprees in Paris may have been dashed.
As a working member of the royal family, Harry reportedly earned about £2.3 million per year, which, let’s be real, is not exactly pennies. But apparently, it wasn’t enough for Meghan’s taste. “She wants to ride in the big Cadillacs, the private jets on command. At the moment she needs to scrounge for those sorts of things,” Bower said.
It seems that Meghan and Harry are trying to capitalize on their fame before it fades. Bower called their recent moves “cynical,” including their departure from Britain and their Netflix series and book deals. “What we’re seeing is an extraordinary marketing campaign by Meghan, whose number one interest is herself, and her second interest is money,” he said in an interview with GB News.
And let me tell you, folks, time is not on their side. Bower said that this is their “peak money-making time” and that they want to maintain their new lavish lifestyle for the rest of their lives. “So [they] have to make a lot of money and fast,” he said.
But here’s the thing, folks, Meghan may be shrewd and clever, but she may not be able to get everything she wants. According to Bower, the couple doesn’t have as much money as their billionaire neighbors. “If they’ve got $30 million amongst the A-listers who are billionaires, that is just a year’s expenditure on food and living. So they’re poor compared to their neighbors, and Meghan feels that,” he said. Poor Meghan, stuck with just five cottages knocked into a “sort of small home” in Windsor.
It seems that Meghan is always on the lookout for business opportunities and people who can help her maximize her popularity. “She is always looking for opportunities and for people who can help her,” Bower said. But the question is whether Harry is on board with all of this. “So she is really looking for the big time. The question is whether Harry appreciates that, whether he really wants to go along that ride,” Bower said.
And it seems that their antics may have some consequences. Bower believes that if Harry attends the coronation for King Charles III on May 6, it could ruin the whole event. “It’ll be overshadowed by Harry’s presence and Meghan’s, too. So I think Charles has to make a decision now,” he said. And to add insult to injury, Bower thinks that people are “getting sick to death of Harry.”
So there you have it, folks, some insider info on the money-hungry Duchess of Sussex and her plans to live the high life. Will she be able to make enough money to satisfy her desires? Only time will tell.
