Dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, sees men and women with uncommon, frequently self-conscious skin disorders every week on Dr. Pimple Popper. They are massively burdened by boils. The cysts are growing till they resemble balloons. Yet what makes the show interesting to watch are the people hidden beneath the incredible bumps and growths. Just cover your eyes through the pus-filled eruptions, if you must.

The brilliant cosmetic doctor tackles some of the most unusual growths we’ve ever seen on the program, which is saying a lot, as devoted viewers know. It’s a whole hour of drama and medical wonders, from teenage brothers with an identical mysterious body, and lumps to a woman with a long curving horn growing out of the back of her skull. However, this time, Dr. Pimple Popper is tackling a cyst filled with ‘mud’.
As we have 37-year-old Victor, who has a hard bump popping out of the center of his chest. “I thought it was a pimple when I first noticed it a few years ago,” Victor says. “So I popped it and I remember a ton of stuff came out, and it just sort of scabbed over — I thought I was good. But over the years that scab got bigger, into this big hard growth it is today. I’ve actually named him Larry the Lump — and he needs to get out the way.”
Dr. Lee is reasonably certain that Larry the Lump is a benign tumor, which is not a huge concern, during Victor’s session. The problem is that Larry is directly above Victor’s heart and lungs on his chest, above vital organs. Dr. Lee had to handle her incision delicately. She wanted to make sure he would be safe because it was so close to his heart and lungs, but as she cut into it, she discovered the truth. She wouldn’t be removing a benign tumor. She would instead be emptying a sizable cyst.
“When I’m removing a growth in this spot, I have to use a gentle surgical technique,” Dr. Lee says. “I only want to go just as deep as I need to — not any further.”
Dr. Lee immediately determines that Larry is a cyst rather than a tumor after cutting into the lump when she takes Victor and Larry into surgery because of the grayish-white sludge that spills out of Victor’s chest (cyst contents are basically old, wet skin cells). Victor is a rather laid-back person who doesn’t seem to be particularly rattled by the surprise during surgery, but in the end, he is grateful that his old friend Larry is no longer with him.
The giant ‘Mud’ cyst, however, shocks viewers with one Twitter user said of dark gray or black gunk oozed out of the hole like a snake exiting a hole, “I usually can watch Dr. Pimple Popper without a problem, but ‘Larry the Lump’ totally gagged me! When Dr. Lee squeezed the cyst, it looked like dog poop! Gross! I had to fast forward.”
Ever since viewers of TV shows and users of social media have been horrified by the black gunk that oozed out of Victor’s chest, it’s not something I believe has ever been witnessed before. People aren’t too fond of Dr. Pimple Popper’s chest since it is covered in dead skin cells.
However, Dr. Lee yet again proves why she is the perfect pimple-popping partner. No cyst or spot is safe when Dr. Pimple Popper is around.
