Elon Musk on Wednesday announced that Twitter will have a new CEO by the end of the year while admitting that running the social media platform “has been a rollercoaster”.
Musk took to Twitter and asked his followers, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.” Shortly after attending the World Cup in Qatar.
He made the statement in a response to a poll he ran, where 57.5% percent of the respondents said that he should step down as the Twitter CEO. Over 17 million people voted on Elon’s poll, which is believed to be the largest poll conducted on Twitter ever. On the other hand, many people thought that Twitter bots were voting to remove Elon Musk from the platform.
Here are the final results:

Elon Musk has finally found a CEO for Twitter. Interestingly, Twitter’s new CEO is not a human but a dog. He is Musk’s pet dog, Floki, a Shiba Inu.
Once he finds a replacement, Musk said he will run the software and servers teams.
I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.

The new Twitter head feels his dog Floki makes a better CEO than the “other guy” Parag Agrawal. Notably, Musk fired Agarwal as soon as he took over the company in a $44 billion dollar deal. Along with Agrawal, Twitter’s legal head Vijaya Gadde and CFO Nel Segal were also pink-slipped.
“The new CEO of Twitter is amazing,” Musk wrote. “So much better than that other guy!”

Musk posted another two tweets showing Floki, now wearing with eyeglasses, sitting over his executive’s desk.
“He’s great with numbers!” Musk wrote in one tweet, adding “And has style,” in another tweet.

The tweets come after Musk’s recent comments at the World Government Summit conference in Dubai, when he said a new CEO should be in charge of Twitter and that he expects to have one in place by the end of 2023.
Here’s what Musk said at the World Government Summit in Dubai:
“I’m guessing probably towards the end of this year should be good timing to find someone else to run the company because I think it should be in a stable position around the end of this year.”
