When you make it to the national level of any type of competition, you know there’s something special about the competitors. Whether it’s a competition for a sport, music, dance, or something else, the competitors are at the top of their game.
And you may have heard of clogging before, but in case you haven’t, clogging is a unique type of dancing that you can learn from many studios in the United States. Many children begin learning how to dance by first observing the fun skill of clogging from an instructor.
Today’s version of clog dancing no longer involves shoes that are wooden as they used to, and it also doesn’t necessarily mimic the same types of routines that were used in cultures of the Irish and Gaelic.
As the popularity of clogging grows stronger throughout the years, a group called the Clogging Champions of America was actually put together in order to create an event for excitable clogging dancers to compete against each other!

Is it safe to say that clogging will blossom even more and continue influencing other dance styles around the world? May it be traditional or modern dance styles? We think so, and so do these two cuties.
Madison and Morgan have been clogging since they were just five years old. They do it, of course, as a duo- and with the four-time national champion clogging team, “Tap This” led by Joel Harrison.

They also have won their own achievements as a duo, both regional and national level awards.
Now, Madison and Morgan were at the Showdown of Champions in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In the video, we can see the sisters wearing identical outfits from head to toe. They are also wearing wide smiles on their faces, it looks like their itching to show the crowd what they are capable of.
They make a perfect duo and their years of being partners reflect in their performance. Their routines are oozing with so much passion and their energy doesn’t seem to fade from start to finish.

They are like shadowing each other. They move as one with the music, it doesn’t look like they plan to be off-beat in any second.
They are so fun to watch not only because they are good but because they are incredibly entertaining.
There are even times when both their arms need to be intertwined with each other. Worry not, because they will not break each other’s arms, it’s just a part of their awesome routine.

Their movements have so many transitions and some routines are so tricky. It’s an unbelievable routine that only clog dancers of their caliber could pull off.
Maybe, being sisters is a plus factor to their success!
Can you imagine the amount of time and energy that they need to spend just to be that good? Good thing is that they are sisters and live in the same house, so they can practice their routine whenever and wherever they want.
Apart from that advantage, I guess, the genuine love and passion for the art is the ultimate reason why they keep on clogging.
According to AWM, folks online were definitely impressed and entertained, with notes such as “Wow! Clogging is energetic!” and “WOW!!! That was fantastic.”
There was some debate about the style, however, as one person remarked: “Talented, BUT that is NOT clogging.”
Another person responded: “Clog comes from the Irish Gaelic word for ‘time.’ Add to the obviously Irish steps here, and it certainly is. Don’t denigrate changes in our culture. This is a modern Irish-American dance style, which we should be proud of.”
Another commenter confirmed that this is, in fact, clogging, adding their own personal experience with the style: “I have taught clogging and it is. There are different styles and complexity. You can plainly see the shuffles and the double steps in there as well as a hint of buck step style mixed in.”
