They Said Her Shorts Were Too Short For The Park, What They Did To Her Will…

When Bailey Breedlove was about to visit the Oklahoma theme park Frontier City, operated by Six Flags, with her family, she thought she was going to have an amazing time. But it was all fun and games until a police officer demanded her to leave and threatened to arrest her for trespassing because her shorts were “too small.”

The incident occurred on April 30, one of the park’s security officers first yelled at Breedlove’s daughter for rolling down a hill in her Heelys. Then, the officer went to the mother for wearing inappropriately short shorts, even though the park’s rules do not mention anything about the length of visitors’ pants.

Breedlove, who shared a video of her experience on TikTok and Facebook, said she was banned from the amusement park for five years after the park safety incident. The Colorado-based mother said an officer called her 11-year-old daughter about two and a half hours after the family visit, as she rolled down a hill in her rolling shoes while Breedlove held her hand.

“Then [the security guard] continued to follow me and grabbed my shoulder to turn around and continued to tell me that my shorts were ‘too short’,” Breedlove claimed in a Facebook post. She said they ignored the officer and kept walking “when I is autistic and has a difficult time talking to officers.”

“She followed me and shouted and asked for backup,” Breedlove continued. “Then your incompetent manager came up and started embarrassing me. I was told I had to buy new shorts as I am not obliged to buy anything I do not want. Then I was threatened with a criminal offense when I said yes to buying new shorts so my family could enjoy the holiday. I was then pushed and escorted to the entrance.”

The video shows Breedlove talking to a park manager and the officer, who asks for identification, while the daughter cries next to her.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, the amusement park company said they were not ashamed of guests and that Breedlove was removed because of her behavior towards the officers, not because of the shorts.

“The guest was originally stopped because her shorts revealed a significant portion of her buttocks,” Six Flags said. “She was given several opportunities to change or cover up, but refused. Instead, she responded with disgraceful and offensive behavior, including exposing her butt further. The guest was removed from the park after she refused to stop her unruly and offensive behavior, purposefully “with the police and other park guests. The video clip this guest posted on the internet does not depict her behavior during this incident.”

Breedlove posted another video on TikTok showing the length of the shorts and said she has contacted Oklahoma police and a lawyer about the incident.

“Your policy is vague and confusing, and the way you are ashamed and discriminated against is illegal,” she wrote on Facebook. “I paid a lot of money in your park for our family vacation, and I think I deserve reimbursement for the trauma that was inflicted on my family because of a pair of shorts on a hot day … I have a 5 year ban now, but will not return to some of your parks if this is how you treat women and law-abiding citizens and visitors. You should be ashamed of yourself. “
