After paramedics responded to an emergency call at Lisa Marie Presley’s California home, new information regarding the events that reportedly led to her death in the hospital this week has come to light. Lisa Marie Presley is the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
Prior to being taken to a hospital, paramedics attempted CPR on Presley, 54, at her Calabasas home after she fell into “full arrest,” according to the first report from TMZ.
In a later article from the journal, it was stated that once she was admitted to the hospital, the physicians declared her to be “brain dead.” Presley was subsequently put “on life support with a temporary pacemaker” and described as being in “critical condition” while in an “induced coma.”
Presley passed away following a second heart arrest, as said from sources who spoke to TMZ. Presley’s family members had signed a do-not-resuscitate order.
On Thursday night, Priscilla Presley released a statement announcing the death of her daughter. “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement.
Austin Butler won his first Golden Globe for best actor in a dramatic motion picture for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the corresponding biopic that Presley and her mother watched, at the 80th Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday.
Riley Keough is one of three children born to singer-songwriter Lisa Presley. Presley dropped out of high school as a teen and then checked herself into rehab after beginning to take drugs. She met guitarist Danny Keough while in treatment, and the two eventually got married and had Riley and Benjamin. After six years of marriage, the two got divorced in 1994.
She wed singer Michael Jackson less than a month later, however, in less than two years, their union lasted.
A few years later, in 2000, Presley got engaged to musician John Oszajca, which she eventually called off so that she could start seeing actor Nicolas Cage. Cage and Presley got hitched, although their union only lasted for just four months in 2002.
Presley owned and operated Elvis Presley Enterprises until 2005 when she sold the business, TMZ added.
