She Was Murdered In A Remote Cabin, And Who The Suspect Is Will Make You….

A shocking development in the Colorado murder that killed Karmen Keefauver, 62, of Montrose. And the prime suspect was the last person the police expected.

The authorities revealed that the shooting had taken place in a remote Colorado cabin. The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office shared that they had arrested the unnamed suspect who is a minor.

The minor was accused of second-degree murder after the death of Keefauver on December 19. The deputies had responded to reports of a woman with a gunshot wound at the 16200 block of Shavano Valley Road at 9 am that morning.

Police revealed that Keefauver had been discovered at the scene and was rushed to the Montrose Memorial Hospital where she eventually died. The sheriff’s office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations have determined that an 11-year-old had been involved in the shooting.

The child is currently being held at Grand Mesa Youth Services. No one is sure at this point about any sort of connection between the suspect and the victim as law enforcement hasn’t released many details about there being a child involved in this case.

Patrol Lieutenant Cox said, “There’s no threat to public safety at this point. We don’t have any other suspects. Tragic incidents like these affect us all, especially the Keefauver family, and our deepest condolences go out to the family.”

This is an absolutely heartbreaking story for all families involved. As mentioned we don’t have all the details to piece this story together but anytime a family loses a loved one before Christmas is so sad, and to add that an 11-year-old is now facing murder charges. This is so tough for everyone involved, we are sending our condolences, especially to the Keefauver family.

According to AWM, readers of the DailyMail were appalled and horrified by the details of the murder in Colorado.

One reader wrote, “Let’s face it- but for the gun being in the house – this would not have happened. 220 accidental shootings of children this year in the USA. Death by gunshot was the second-highest cause of death in the United States in 2016 among children and adolescents ages 1 to 19.”

“An 11-year-old child will only kill #1 because they are crazy or #2 because someone is doing horrible things to them.”

“Not uncommon in CO. I’ve lived here my whole life & this would not be the first time I’ve known it to happen. Some places in CO… winter is cold & lasts a long time. RIP for the woman.”
