Snakes are dangerous, and the older you get, the scarier they become. Most people are afraid of snakes, and even the word “snake” can send shivers down the spines of some people. But those with ophidiophobia, have an extreme and irrational amount of fear.
So, what do you do when you see a giant python in your backyard? Would you remain calm and back away slowly or would you scream and run for help?
Now, a female Burmese python that stretched 16 feet was found in the Florida Everglades with its nest of nearly 50 eggs. And this enormous snake is capable of instantly crushing a human being. According to multiple reports, during the 4th of July weekend, 2019, the 16-foot, the 165-pound reptile was found under a home in the Everglades along with its 50 eggs. The home was about four miles south of “Alligator Alley” in Broward County, Fla.

However, the python and her eggs, some of which hatched when a professional showed up, were removed from under the home. Although it was a difficult job for the authorities to remove the sixteen-foot snake from underneath the Florida home, it did weigh a lot and was extremely long. But thankfully authorities were able to remove the huge snake.
Ron Bergeron, an Everglades conservationist is one of the few people trying to remove the snake from the property admitted that this Burmese python was one of the biggest snakes he had ever encountered. And while removing the snake, they also witnessed some eggs hatch.
Burmese pythons first began spreading in the Everglades and throughout the state more than 20 years ago. And they have been considered invasive apex predators, ever since they broke into the swampy area of the Everglades, because of this it was imperative for the conservationists to remove the big snake from underneath the Florida home.

The Burmese python was just one foot shorter than the one that held the top spot for the longest on record, it may not a world record-breaking snake, but it was still difficult for Ron Bergeron who got the call to remove the snake from underneath the home. Ron Bergeron, as locals refer to him as Alligator Ron because he is the person to contact if you have a dangerous reptile on your property and need it removed.
“The Burmese Python poses a significant threat to the Florida Everglades by disrupting the natural food chain. With good fortune, we were able to find a large female, and remove her and an entire nest of up to 50 baby snakes which would have continued killing off our precious habitat,” Ron said.
The Florida Wildlife Commission created removal opportunities open to the public to help combat invasive apex predators. Meaning that by calling the Florida Wildlife Commission, anyone who finds an invasive snake can help control its population.

People enthusiastically posted their thoughts about the huge and long python on Daily Mail. A Texas resident wrote, “Nice momma and her sweet little babies, Just because they’re not puppies and kittens doesn’t mean they’re not cute.”
One person said, “animals in ecosystems other than their own can cause big problems.”
“A lot of invasive species in the United States.”
“Yep, that would be me! I’d be gone and letting her have the property. Haha! Beautiful and impressive creature, though!”
