For allegedly sexually assaulting a girl in 1973, when she was 14 and the actor was 35, Hollywood star Warren Beatty has been sued!
According to a piece published Wednesday by The Daily Mail, The 85-year-old actor isn’t identified in court documents from Los Angeles Superior Court, but he is described in the lawsuit as “playing Clyde in ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ a major box office success that earned defendant doe an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.”
The Hollywood Reporter noted that Beatty, who played Clyde in “Bonnie and Clyde,” received a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 1967.
The woman, Kristina Hirsch, 63, has accused Beatty of allegedly grooming her in 1973 for sex when she was just 14, as Court documents obtained by the outlet show. Reportedly that after her neighbor who worked there brought her to the set, the “Heaven Can Wait” star paid “undue attention” to the then-minor when she met him on the set of his movie as the lawsuit alleged.
The suit read, “Plaintiff was initially thrilled that defendant doe was interested in her, and believed she was involved in a romantic relationship with a movie star.”
“He used his role, status, and power as a well-known Hollywood Star to gain access to, groom, manipulate, exploit, and coerce sexual contact from her over the course of several months in the State of California,” the suit added, the Daily Mail reported.
In 1973, Hirsch claimed that when the youngster was 14 and 15, he lavished her with flattery and reportedly “used his position and status as an adult, and a Hollywood movie star to pressure” her into having sex with him. And at the time where he was living, Beatty allegedly gave his number and instructed the woman to give him a call if she was near the hotel where he was staying.
In addition, on numerous occasions, Beatty reportedly coerced Hirsch into having a variety of sex with him as the lawsuit alleged.
It is also reported that Hirsch “suffered severe emotional, physical and psychological distress, including humiliation, shame, and guilt,” she claimed in the court documents.
The court added, “Plaintiff has suffered personal physical injury of sexual assault, and has and will continue to suffer, psychological, mental and emotional distress, and all associated economic injury.”
The publication noted that the woman is now requesting general damages, punitive damages, and special damages.
Since they got married in 1992, Beatty has been associated with actress Annette Bening. Together, the couple has four children.
