Three Dozen Toy Soldiers Lined Up On Stage, Then They Made A Move That Brought The House Down…

The internet will never have enough videos about spectacular dance routines. This is why we’re pleased to introduce yet another, one that has been watched by millions due to its sheer scale.

It’s just another reason why the holiday season is awesome–there are so many heartwarming and creative Christmas performances to see! This one has always been popular, but check out one of the awesome Christmas numbers put on by the Radio City Rockettes.

Back in 2014, a full line of 36 Rockettes took the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall and represents the power of teamwork in “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.”

Their annual Christmas Spectacular is a show that’s tough to beat this time of year — dozens of Rockettes moving together as toy soldiers in perfect formation. And many of the formations get ridiculous. If you watch long enough your eyes are certain to get HUGE.

Each year The Rockettes pay homage to this Christmas icon in their annual performance of “The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” during the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes where the dancers perform an impressively precise routine dressed in pristine soldier uniforms and tall hats.

The Rockettes move in perfect unison as they line up, split up, and march around the stage in different configurations as festive music plays in the background. It is an absolute delight to witness and really gets you in the holiday spirit!

What makes “The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” so famous is the ending scene where the toy soldiers are shot by a cannon and perfectly collapse like dominoes.

According to AWM:

The Rockettes’ website explains how this amazing move, which they’ve been performing since 1933, is pulled off. They note that it “represents the power of teamwork,” with Christmas Spectacular Director and Choreographer Julie Branam explaining that “the key to the fall is perfect alignment between the dancers.”

Julie noted: “It starts by having someone rock up on their heels and start to go back. You raise your hands up, slide your hands through, and open your arms. Their feet have to be completely lined up because you don’t want the fall to go one way or another because someone could get hurt.”

After seeing the performance below, there’s no question you’ll want to add the world-famous Radio City Rockettes to your annual holiday plans as well.
