This Mom Showed How She Lives On A Hundred Dollars A Month..

Life is packed with surprises. And with such a rocky economy and expenses piling up left and right, it can be pretty challenging to set up a retirement fund and really commit to building it.

When you think you’ve hit rock bottom, God will intervene in your life to raise you up.

Just like our featured inspiring story for today, Michelle “MJ” Boyle’s life is a never-ending roller coaster ride. She was married twice before and divorced twice as well. Because of the divorce, she lost two houses that she had built. For 13 years, she has been a single mother of two children and has lived paycheck to paycheck. Her children are becoming adults, and she has no money or retirement plans in place.

MJ is a strong single mother of two who has had a few challenges along the way. Playing both mom and dad hasn’t been easy. It wouldn’t be easy for anyone having to run a household, pay all the bills, and ace all the parenting duties

That’s when it dawned on her. She made the decision to alter her life in some way. MJ used to pay $1,600 a month to live in a modest house in the Sherwood, Oregon, Pacific Northwest Community. However, with the aid of a contractor and friends, she stopped renting and created a tiny house instead.

The house took MJ 15 months to build and is 8 and a half feet wide by 24 feet long. It boasts everything a large, modern home would.

The difference? MJ has no mortgage and no excessive space to clean up! The little house is located on an old Christmas tree farm property in Sherwood, Oregon, and while it is modern, it has flair with refurbished vintage pieces from the 1940s and 50s.

As her kids prepared to transition to college, MJ took that as her cue to make a change. MJ wanted to give her children great college educations, cutting down her monthly rental payment would help her shovel more cash into her children’s college funds.

The decision was also an excellent opportunity for MJ to release her creative juices and nurture her potential. Today, MJ only spends $75 a month on expenses, down from $1600 a month. Imagine how much relief she enjoys today. MJ cannot express her happiness and progress after making this milestone in her life.

From MJ’s story, you can also picture how much burden she offsets from renting to owning her own home. She is now able to save up to build more tiny houses and live a stress-free life. You reap what you sow, and MJ is the perfect epitome of this idiom.
