If you haven’t read about this, then you’ve certainly missed something big.

For people who have the habit of biting their nails, this video clearly proves why you must stop biting your nails. The dangers of nail-biting shouldn’t be ignored.

This is not just about germs or anything, it is more than that.

Well, most of us are familiar with at least one nail-biter in our social circle. You might be the victim in this situation, or at least you were when you were a kid. It’s similar to an addiction that could take years to kick and leave behind.

In actuality, the majority of people developed this practice as children but eventually outgrew it. The fact that a sizable percentage of people can connect is nothing to be ashamed of. Given that this is a widespread issue among children, parents are inclined to overlook the negative effects of this behavior.

Biting your nails is considered a bad habit usually caused by stress and anxiety. For this boy, it became something entirely different. And it clearly shows what can happen when you have the habit of nail-biting all the time.

Like many other parents, Sara Guidry is a mom of a child who enjoys chewing nails. She does, however, offer some cautionary information that should encourage parents to monitor their children’s oral health, particularly if they bite their nails.

Kale, her son, expressed discomfort with his gums. She made the decision to examine the potential cause as a mother. She retrieved a flashlight and checked the condition of the sore gums.

Even more alarming was the source of the pain, which Kale’s gums had displayed some signs of inflammation and redness. When Sara noticed some debris adhering to her son’s gums, she became curious and grabbed a pair of tweezers to remove one for further examination. However, Sara was shocked when she pulled off a fingernail.

Sara continued to look into Kale’s mouth and discovered another, removed it, looked it over again, and repeated the procedure 27 times! Since her mother was able to remove 27 fingernails from one mouth region, Kale’s seemingly harmless practice of biting her nails turned out to be deadly. She reasoned that they had collected over time and that the pressure from each successive trapped nail and subsequent piercing had eventually caused the agony.

She then posted a video on Facebook and now has more than 13 million views on it. She explained what happened “I get a tweezer and pull it. It looked like a fingernail. I continued to pull 4 more out. “I then search his mouth and find another area. I pulled around 27 out of the second spot. YES 27”!

She went on to say that when she took her son to the local dentist, the doctors were also as shocked because they had never experienced anything like this. She later learned that her son enjoys chewing his nails and then playing with them in his mouth.

Kale had 32 fingernail pieces in his gums, in total.

Doctors have found that nail-biting, also known as onychophagia, can have both short- and long-term detrimental effects on the teeth and gums.

Well, If you bite your nails frequently, you should really stop.
