Being born with a deformity is one thing but being rejected by your mother because of those deformities is a whole other matter.
That was exactly what happened to little Gabe Adams. He was just a few days old when he lost everything. He was born in Brazil, and when he was only two days old, his mother left him at an orphanage.
When the mother saw him, she was disappointed and decided to abandon him. There he was, lying alone in a hospital bed all day. Gabe’s condition meant that his chance of being adopted was merely nothing.
Gabe was born with a condition called Hanhart Syndrome — he had no arms or legs.
Hanhart Syndrome is an extremely rare condition, and it is still unclear how it is caused. It can cause physical abnormalities in the limbs and can often cause an underdeveloped jaw and/or tongue.

But one mother would soon change everything.
Gabe’s future looked bleak. He seemed destined for a lonely life confined to a hospital bed. The chances of him being adopted were very small because he didn’t look like the other children at all.
But one day in the United States, Janelle Adams saw Gabe’s picture in a supermarket and decided that she wanted to help him.
Many people who passed the picture must have felt the same way, but Janelle couldn’t get the toddler out of her mind. Instinctively, Janelle knew she wanted to give this child a home.
At first, Janelle and Ron Adams were terrified. How would they teach Gabe to walk? Would he ever be able to care for himself? What would happen to him after they were gone?
Much to the surprise of the Adams family, Gabe taught them a thing or two about life. Gabe has never let his disability hold him back. Not only did he learn how to get around without his wheelchair, but he also learned how to dance.

Gabe joined the Davis High School dance team during his sophomore year of high school. After other students saw Gabe perform, they wanted to hear more about his story.
Gabe wanted the world to know that he never would have accomplished anything without the support of his amazing parents. He wrote an article, published by Huffington Post, thanking his adoptive parents for teaching him to eat, write, swim, and use the stairs by himself.
Gabe is most thankful for his ability to dance. When his family moved to a new school district, Gabe started taking private lessons. Dancing gives him the ability to express himself through movement. It’s something Gabe never thought he’d be able to do.

Gabe enjoys hip-hop and contemporary dance. He is also a motivational speaker and an avid swimmer. He has even released his own inspirational documentary back in November of 2019 called, “Limb-itless: Adventure Songwriting.” Gabe can be found at his website, Twitter, and Instagram.

Among the many people who commented on Gabe’s dance skills on social media were those who were beyond impressed with his talent, with notes such as: “Amazing. Kudos to him and to his high school dance team” and “Watch this and don’t ever say you can’t do something!”
Another commenter remarked: “Wow! God bless him. This country needs more kids willing to work hard to beat the odds. Nothing but admiration for this young man.”
