A man’s Twitter thread from 2016 about time-traveling went viral as the man stated some accurate predictions about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A Twitter user named Drew Curtis made a bold prediction back in 2015 — and now it looks like he might’ve been right all along.
Although Curtis was just joking about the initial time traveler post, he recently retweeted his own post back on May 1, 2020, to remind people that he “predicted” how bad things were going to get.
Curtis, who is the founder of news aggregation site Fark.com, tweeted on Dec. 31, 2015, that he was “a time traveler from 2020.” In his post, he also told people to enjoy 2016, since that year was “as good as it gets for [a while].”
On TikTok, Curtis is even something of a celebrity due to his seemingly accurate prediction. Even if Curtis’ claim that he is a time traveler is a joke (and it most likely is), people can’t help but ask him questions about the future in hopes that they will receive some optimistic and comforting answers.
Many Twitter users asked questions about the pandemic when the Twitter thread resurfaced in May. A random user asked Curtis when will things get back to normal and he answered that it will be in November.
Although different states are working in phases toward reopening this coming fall and summer and stay-at-home orders are already being lifted, Curtis said that things will have to return to normal while conducting safe measures.
He predicted that the second growth in cases will be seen within the year 2020, which will force many states to have a second lockdown. “States will open up to soon and have to close down again,” he answered in response to an individual who wants things to be normal by July.
Although conspiracy theorists are looking to Curtis as a savior-type person, he has admitted that he isn’t a real-time traveler. Instead, he uses his skills on the computer to deduce the future.
“I run a news aggregation website, and reading everything keeps me a step ahead,” Curtis explained.
Despite the negative statements that Curtis gave the public, he also revealed that the coronavirus pandemic will not be the end of humanity, and the year 2021 will be a good one.
