The news of the death of country music’s legendary songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Daniels was out in 2020, he was 83. The country great’s passing has hit the country community hard, expressing their gratitude and out in full force to share their love for the music legend Daniels.
With other country artists who have been mourning Daniels all day and all night on social media.
Daniels, who was raised in Nashville but was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, rose to prominence as a studio musician for some of the biggest names in rock music.
He collaborated with artists as diverse as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, playing guitar, banjo, and—perhaps most famously—the fiddle, but the singer-songwriter is best known for his own band, the Charlie Daniels Band, which—along with the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Marshall Tucker Band—epitomized the emergence of southern rock in the 1970s and 1980s.
In his early years, Daniels was most known for his fiddling on the classic song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which peaked at No. 1 on both the country and pop charts. However, Daniels’ popularity extended far beyond that.
The bold singer-songwriter, whose political views were as diverse as the genres of music he influenced, was well known as an exceptional musician and charismatic personality.
Daniels frequently expressed a more strident, conservative tone in songs like “In America” (1980), “Simple Man,” and “(What the World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks” (both in 1990).
The song’s lyrics continue to explain how Daniel, in his direct words, believes that offenses like selling drugs, stealing, and murder should be punished. The chorus, however, also conveys an “everyman” attitude that aims to go beyond what some may perceive as divisive speech and create a cautionary story.
“You know what’s wrong with the world today? People done gone and put their Bible’s away. They’re living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land. The Good Book says it so I know it’s the truth; An eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth. You better watch where you go and remember where you been – that’s the way I see it I’m a simple man.”
In fact, what Daniels tried to express in many of his later-career lyrics was the voice of Americans that feel frustrated and unheard.
The very same feelings shared by many Americans who want to make America great again. A vast majority of Democrats, fail to understand.
But after he passed away, Daniels still captures the sentiments of what America is today. In his blog post on his website, his son Charlie Daniels Jr. discovered that his father had written were still eerily relevant today, by starting out a quote the Bible verse that states “2 Thessalonians 3:10: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat,” from his 2015 blog post on Labor Day.
“We came up in a society where work ethic was honed and drilled into young folks’ heads from the time they could walk, it was well understood that, once you took your feet out from under your mother’s table, you were on your own, nobody was going to give you anything, that the only way you would survive would be by the sweat of your brow,” the well-known country legend said.
“I’ve picked cotton, cropped tobacco, pulled peanuts, worked in the log woods, and am no stranger to backbone jobs and I consider it a blessing knowing what truly hard physical work is all about,” Charlie continued by recalling his childhood memories of America. “I wanted my son to know the same thing and in his early teens put him to work cleaning out horse stalls in the barn.”
The country singer continued by blaming the government for some of the current issues. In 2015, while Barack Obama was still in the White House, Daniels wrote, “It seems that under the current administration self-reliance, personal responsibility, work ethic and the other traits that made America into the nation it is, or was, (that’s a subjective issue) have been traded in for dependence on the government, and a “blame all your problems on some outside force, the world owes me a living.”
The Devil Went Down to Georgia singer bemoaned the state of American kids in another piece. Charlie Daniels wrote that the “mind-washed children whose thought processes have been warped by some revolutionary college professor who regards [Saul] Alinsky and Karl Marx as prophets indoctrinate young minds with the lies about America and white people being the cause of all the planet’s problems and need to be stripped of their place in the world.”
Regarding individuals who slander our police forces, Charlie Daniels was equally incensed. So, America, if you want peace and stability in your life, back our police, he said.“If you don’t want to live in a society run amok, if you don’t want to have an armed escort to walk to the grocery store.” And act now, while it is so important.
More than anything, Charlie loves this country. With his final post on July 3rd, 2020, thinking about our Independence Day, Daniels trusted hard-working Americans to do the right thing.
“This year, as we celebrate the 244th birthday of the greatest nation the world has ever known, we are beset with many problems, some of our making and some we have no control over,” Charlie said. “But, be that as it is, America is still the greatest and I want to express my personal feelings about our beloved country.” Those feelings were best expressed in his song called My Beautiful America.
But with his death, Charlie Daniels won’t be around to see what is happening in America. But one thing is for certain — the music and the words that Charlie Daniels wrote help reflect the opinions of many individuals who will determine the outcome if Democrats are still in line now that Joe Biden and his regime happened.
As automobile dealerships are currently buying back two-year-old vehicles to replenish their inventory as petrol costs are rising and energy output is at an all-time low. The president is pleading with foreign businesses to supply us with gas and oil. Supply chain splintering also resulted from the global economy being shut down. And the spending practices of the Biden Administration have sparked unprecedented inflation, which has devastated the modern family.
We are reliant on other nations not only for their oil production but also for our food supply. Infants in America are receiving infant formula from European nations. Two of the four large-scale beef packers are owned by Brazilian businesses. China is buying up our chemical firms and agricultural land while manufacturing our fertilizer.
