On the menu today: The criminal investigation of Hunter Biden is at a “critical stage” with the grand jury considering an array of charges including various tax violations and possible foreign lobbying violations.
Biden’s first son is currently the subject of at least two federal investigations, one for alleged tax fraud involving subpoenaed tax records and paternity documents, and another for his numerous business dealings with figures in China, Russia, and Ukraine.
And several investigation agencies are currently investigating Hunter Biden’s financial affairs, including millions of dollars worth of dealings and money transfers tied to the said countries.
The investigation started in 2018, and Hunter acknowledged that in December 2020, prosecutors were investigating his tax affairs.
Since at least February, a federal grand jury has been hearing testimony from witnesses, including an ex-girlfriend who described Hunter’s excessive spending habits and answered questions about his income, as The Post reported exclusively at the time.
A 2017 email found on Hunter’s laptop stated that “the big guy” would receive a 10% interest in a business venture with CEFC China Energy Co. In April, a grand jury witness was called to identify “the big person.” That Tony Bobulinski confirmed “the big guy” was Joe Biden.
And in a newly released report showed that Hunter have transported three sex workers across state lines in 2018, from the content of Biden’s iCloud account that was apparently claimed to have been hacked. The contents purportedly belonging to the US president’s son revealed texts, pictures, and videos including images of drugs and sexual activities.
Federal prosecutors are reportedly considering charging Hunter Biden with alleged tax-law infractions and making a false statement in connection with his purchase of a firearm. This is according to CNN.
Due to a department guideline prohibiting the filing of politically sensitive cases within two months of an election, CNN also reported that the Department of Justice was debating whether to file charges at this time. The paper noted that because Joe Biden is not on the ballot the “unwritten rule” might not even apply.
CNN reports say sources within the department say the probe has intensified in recent months following claims that ‘pedophile code words‘ were found on his laptop alongside evidence of shady business dealings with China and Ukraine.
“Discussions recently have centered around possibly bringing charges that could include alleged tax violations and making a false statement in connection with Biden’s purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited from doing so because of his acknowledged struggles with drug addiction.
Adding to the pressure, Republicans in Congress have already announced that if they take over the House of Representatives after the midterm elections, they plan to launch new investigations and hold hearings to examine the conduct of Hunter Biden and others in the Biden family”
