Loudmouth Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) is facing fines for failing to resolve an unpaid tax warrant dating back five years.
This so-called Democrat sweetheart believes that the wealthy should be slammed with even more taxes than they already are because, as the radical left loves to repeat time and again, “the rich should pay their fair share.”
Her own hypocrisy is hunting her down, it seems AOC doesn’t think the rules should apply to her, which is pretty par for the course for a modern leftist.
The state filed a tax warrant against Brook Avenue Press — a children-oriented publishing house Ocasio-Cortez founded in 2012 — on July 6, 2017, to collect $1,618 in unpaid corporate taxes, the Washington Examiner reported.
Five years later, the tax warrant has increased 52% to cost $2,461 due to the representative not paying the taxes.
AOC’s office has previously said this matter is being contested, but this was back in 2020. Whether or not it’s being contested is still up in the air, but it’s not like the New York congresswoman doesn’t have the means to pay it off.
You see, she’s one of the wealthy now. As the Examiner makes clear, AOC has raked in over half a million dollars since she’s been in office.
When the outlet questioned her aide, Corbin Trent, about the matter when Ocasio-Cortez still had not paid the taxes two weeks later, he got testy.
“I’m her congressional staffer, not her personal accountant,” Trent said.
In a separate article over a year later, the New York Post reported that Ocasio-Cortez’s office had completely changed course.
Here’s what spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said:
“The congresswoman is still in the process of contesting the tax warrant.”
“The business has been closed for several years now, and so we believe that the state Tax Department has continued to collect the franchise tax in error. As anyone who’s tried to contest a tax bill in error knows, it takes time.”

One of Ocasio-Cortez’s first actions after joining Congress was to propose a 60 to 70 percent tax increase on the wealthiest Americans, CNN reported.
She proposed the increase while speaking to Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes,” and she said it could be used as a means to fund her radical proposals like the infamous “Green New Deal.”
“There’s an element where, yeah, people are going to have to start paying their fair share in taxes,” Ocasio-Cortez said, according to CNN.
Given the reports about her own refusal to pay corporate taxes, lecturing others about paying their “fair share” is pretty ironic.
Then in 2021, Ocasio-Cortez wore a white dress to the Met Gala with the words “Tax the Rich” in big red letters on the back.

If AOC truly believes what she believes, that taxes are truly the way to a better society, then why won’t she pay the taxes she owes? Why is she contesting these taxes? Is she saying that the government is in error for trying to squeeze that money from her? Why does she want to hold onto that money so badly?
Seems AOC doesn’t truly believe everything she espouses.
