She Put Her Knife Into Her Dinner, And Her Fork Hit A Hook…

Cleanliness is not the only thing customers need to look out for before dining in, as whether or not the food is safe to consume must also be considered.

One Malaysian family found something dangerous item in their food while having dinner at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. They spotted a giant fishing hook in the fish itself.

According to Asiaone.com, Lemon Mii’s family was enjoying a fish head curry dish at a seafood restaurant. However, the family patriarch discovered the fish’s head still had the hook.

On June 22, Mii posted on Facebook, including a photo of the dish, the hook, and the bill from the restaurant. “Can you believe it?” Mii wrote, Luckily my father didn’t put the whole thing in his mouth.”

One of the restaurant’s waiters claimed that it was the kitchen’s fault.

Mii immediately highlighted the matter to the restaurant manager, but the response was not what they expected.

But when it came to the manager’s attention, he refused to take any responsibility. He told the customers it was a blunder from the supplier’s side.

“It’s none of our business, it’s the supplier’s problem.” The Manager said.

“At first, you said it was the kitchen’s problem, now it’s the supplier’s issue?” Mii wrote. “I really feel bad for the supplier.”

The Manager then apologized for the matter and eventually gave the family a discount of 60 sen off their total bill of RM298.60.

But Mii is dissatisfied with how the restaurant handled the discovery of a fishing hook in their meal.

“It was the kitchen’s fault at first, and then it became the supplier’s fault. My dad did not bite on the fishing hook, but what if it was served to others?” Mii said.

This may have caused serious injuries, making it both unsafe and unsanitary. For Mii, the apology and the 60 sen off the total price insufficient to make up for the unpleasant dining experience is not enough.
