PETA made headlines after condemning Elon Musk for simply tweeting, “Chocolate milk is insanely good. Just had some.”
Elon Musk has been chastised by PETA for announcing to the world that he enjoys sipping chocolate milk.
“Chocolate milk is insanely good. Just had some,” Musk tweeted on Monday.
PETA, the animal rights organization best known for its ads connecting sexism to eating animals, pounced on Musk’s seemingly innocuous tweet and wrote that supporting the dairy business is bad for the environment.
Despite its efforts to persuade the agriculture industry to adopt more humane procedures, the company has gained attention for commercials that compare animal killing to the Holocaust and sexism.
PETA replied to say that “Drinking cow’s milk is like driving a gas guzzler.”
“The dairy industry is one of the worst contributors to the climate catastrophe. What happened to caring about the environment? Now chocolate oat milk we can get behind,” the organization continued.

PETA has recently made news for its Starbucks protests. Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell made headlines earlier this week after supergluing his hand to a Starbucks counter in New York City in protest of the coffee company’s pricing markups on vegan milk alternatives.
In comparison to full milk and low-fat milk alternatives, Starbucks, like other coffee shops, charges approximately a $1 more for wheat, almond, and oat milk.
On Tuesday morning, the “L.A. Confidential” star protested outside Starbucks, claiming that it was discriminating toward people who are lactose intolerant and require vegan dairy replacements.
“Save the planet, save the cows. Stop the vegan upcharge now!” Cromwell and other protesters chanted at the event, which was circulated on social media by PETA.
PETA tweeted, “This is how you get an animal rights message to STICK! James Cromwell joined PETA’s campaign and glued himself to a @Starbucks counter to call on the company to stop charging extra for animal and earth-friendly vegan milks!”

“Why does everything farmers do contribute to climate change? The big cities where you can’t see the stars because of how much nasty stuff is being released into the air is not talked about. At least in rural areas, we can still see the stars. Animals are NOT causing climate change”
“Putting people down for not doing EVERYTHING they can to support a certain issue is annoying and makes many people not want to do ANYTHING just for spite. Food for thought.”
