Why This Actress Said Men Should Support Abortion Is Beyond Disgusting!

While the United States Supreme Court considers the constitutional basis for a federally-protected right to abortion, actress Jameela Jamil is making a slightly more unrealistic argument — she believes men should fight for abortion to avoid becoming fathers.

Jamil, 36, is a writer, actress, and self-described political advocate. She appeared most recently in media like Marry Me, and the TV series Mira, Royal Detective.

In an Instagram post, Jamil laid out her argument:

“Do YOU want zero way out of a lifelong fatherhood and child support payments, even if you’re a teenager, because a condom broke?” Jamil wrote.

“The men I know who have had partners/one-night stands who have had abortions have also lived with immense relief and gratitude, as they were not in a position to raise a child emotionally/financially,” She continued.

She added, “Not all, but most of the people who will become pregnant are women, This is a patriarchal tactic designed to control and abuse the freedom of women. To stop progress, to derail our education, to derail out independence, to force us into poverty where we can be exploited and harmed, with no protection.”

Jamil has previously viewed the law with “disgust,” when Texas passed its Heartbeat Bill in the fall of 2021, an abortion procedure “saved her life,” as she said.

Here’s what she posted:

“I had not a minute of regret. I only felt deep relief and gratitude that I lived in a country that made abortion accessible and safe. Nobody made me feel bad for being there. They just gave me HEALTHCARE. Because that is what abortion is.”

The actress also called Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter an act of hate:

“I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck.”
