Elon Musk Is About To Speak His Mind To Triggered Twitter Employees!

The billionaire Elon Musk will hold a “ask me anything” town hall with Twitter employees just days after being appointed to the company’s board of directors.

According to The Washington Post, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced the plan in a companywide email to employees.

Agrawal wrote Thursday in a companywide email, according to the Post:

“We say that Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. Often, we [at] Twitter are what’s happening and what people are talking about. That has certainly been the case this week,”‘

“Following our board announcement, many of you have had different types of questions about Elon Musk, and I want to welcome you to ask those questions to him.”

“I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board,” Agrawal said in a tweet thread following one day Agrawal made the announcement after Musk became the largest shareholder in the company.

“He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome, Elon!”

“Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!” Musk replied.

According to a Monday Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Musk purchased a 9.2% stake in Twitter. His $2.9 billion purchase made him the company’s largest shareholder.

More from Newsmax:

Musk owns 73.5 million Twitter shares, valuing his passive stake in the company at up to $2.9 billion based on the stock’s Friday close. The shares are held by the Elon Musk Revocable Trust, Musk, a prolific user of Twitter, has over 80 million followers on the site since joining in 2009 and has used the platform to make several announcements, including teasing a go-private deal for Tesla that landed him in regulatory scrutiny. He, however, has been critical of the social media platform and its policies of late and has said the company is undermining democracy by failing to adhere to free speech principles.

Employees at the company are said to have been in a frenzy over Musk’s acquisition all week. Some Twitter employees are concerned about the social media company’s ability to moderate content as a result of Elon Musk’s appointment to the board of directors, according to a Reuters report.

“Despite Twitter’s reiteration this week that the board does not make policy decisions, four Twitter employees who spoke with Reuters said they were concerned about Musk’s ability to influence the company’s policies on abusive users and harmful content.”

Musk has stated that he will work closely with Twitter’s CEO and other board members to improve the platform. The billionaire frequently uses his Twitter account to share important Tesla, SpaceX, and other company news, but he has also slammed Twitter for suppressing free speech.

Musk asked his followers on Twitter if a “new platform” is needed after he criticized the social media giant over free speech.

“Is a new platform needed?” he asked after taking a hit at Twitter and accusing the platform of “failing” to follow free speech rules.

“Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done?” he wrote in an earlier tweet.

Musk then said “free speech is essential to a functioning democracy” and asked his followers in a poll if they believe “Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?”

“Is a new platform needed?”

Musk tweeted: “oh hi lol,” following the news went viral.

Musk also tweeted asking ‘Do you want an edit button?’ for Twitter. A majority of voters agreed, and officials confirmed that one is already in the works.
