They Ended Up Rescuing A Drowning Man, Why They Had To Shoot Him Dead Is Beyond Sad…

I know for sure you have heard or seen a self-defense story, but this featured story for today would be one of the craziest self-defense cases you probably ever heard.

According to a local sheriff’s department, a stranded jet skier without a life preserver was rescued from a South Carolina lake only to be shot to death by his rescuer after becoming agitated.

The incident occurred on Lake Keowee near Salem, South Carolina, on Tuesday, March 15, according to a news release from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Just after 2:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the man-made lake. As a result of a reported shooting involving a boater and a wave runner

In a police report, a couple was on a pontoon boat when they noticed a man and woman in distress in the water. The couples had fallen off a jet ski and were not wearing life jackets.

The boaters rescued them while the Jet Ski continued to “circle the lake,” the sheriff’s office said.

The man identified as Nathan Drew Morgan became agitated while on the pontoon boat and “began assaulting the couple on the pontoon,” the release says.

Officials believe Morgan wanted to return to the watercraft, which was still driving through the water with no one aboard.

“The Jet Ski continued running and was doing circles in the lake, The man, who had been rescued, became agitated and began assaulting the couple on the pontoon. Investigators have been told that the man may have wanted to get back to the Jet Ski. ” in a press release last week, Deputies said.

Authorities said the rescued woman pushed Morgan into the water to de-escalate the situation. They claimed that after he brought Morgan back onto the pontoon a second time, the man on the boat shot him out of concern for the safety of those on board.

Morgan died on the pontoon boat.

After they reviewed the evidence of the shooting, prosecutors ruled the shooting a case of self-defense and said they would not press charges.

“The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for continued prayer for the family of Nathan Drew Morgan,” officials said in the statement.

The statement said all parties have been notified of the decision not to move forward with charges.
