They Are SCRAMBLING To Sabotage The Freedom Truckers…
Earlier Tuesday, Fox News‘ Brad Pergram reported that the National Guard is now “scrambling to secure heavy tow trucks to haul away semis which may try to block roads.”
The Washington DC National Guard is ratcheting up preparations “for forthcoming Trucker protest” set to begin on Tuesday, as a new group of roughly 1,000 truckers dubbed “The People’s Convoy” makes its way to the nation’s capital in protest of Covid-19 mandates.
According to the announcement, the National Guard will encamp until Monday, March 7. Soldiers were already on standby to support the State of the Union address, which is slated for March 1.
The District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department and the United States Department of Justice has both filed requests. According to a press statement from the District of Columbia National Guard, Capitol Police were approved on Tuesday.
“The people who live, work and visit the District are part of our community, and their safety is our first mission priority,” said Maj. Gen. Sherrie L. McCandless, DCNG commanding general. “Our MPD and USCP partners have asked for our help in ensuring people can demonstrate peacefully and safely, and we stand ready to assist.”
Protestors are traveling from California, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere to voice concerns about a myriad of issues, from COVID-19 vaccine mandates to domestic oil production. The convoys are coming just weeks after similar protests in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, and on the U.S.-Canada border paralyzed traffic and trade.
According to Breibart:
“According to the notice, the National Guard will encamp through Monday, March 7. The notice stated that soldiers were already on standby to support the State of the Union address, which is scheduled for March 1.
A separate notice stated that the encampment could last longer than March 7, and would be in support of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).”
In a report, law enforcement officials have hit a snag in their preparations for the next demonstration, and are reportedly “scrambling to get heavy tow vehicles” that will be utilized to tow away massive trucks participating in the convoy.
From the internal MPD communication, officers from Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department would enhance patrols from Feb. 22 through March 5, just after the State of the Union address. In addition, the department will have two fast response teams on standby.
Austin also approved a request for up to 300 National Guard members from outside the District of Columbia to assist at designated traffic posts and select Capitol entry points, beginning no later than 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.
