Recently, a convicted criminal is set to receive a ridiculous affirmation surgery while in federal custody.

Cristina Nichole Iglesias, a 47-year-old woman inmate at FMC Carswell was arrested in 1994 and pleaded guilty in 2005 after sending an envelope to British officials that she falsely claimed contained anthrax.

Back on December 27, An order to the Bureau of Prisons’ Transgender Executive Council to decide Cristina’s case by Monday,  U.S. District Judge Nancy Rosenstengel of Illinois’ Southern District is the first ever to order the bureau to act on such a case.

If ever the Bureau of Prisons agreed to give action on the surgery for Iglesias becoming the very first inmate who will receive such an operation while in federal custody.

Cristina Nichole Iglesias fought for years to get the treatment the Constitution requires. The Court’s order that Bureau of Prisons must evaluate her for gender-affirming surgery marks the first time the Bureau has been ordered to evaluate a transgender person in their custody.

“The BOP system… has never provided a single surgery for a transgender person. It’s well overdue time that they start providing that necessary care.” said in a statement by Amy Whelan, a senior staff attorney for the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

I certainly agree and disagree with this treatment, I mean, I agree that being a Trans has its rights but I also agree that it is not right for Iglesia to use our Tax Money for her endeavors.

After a series of terrorist threats and an anthrax attack on British officials, she is about to receive benefits from our tax money.
