Just three short weeks ago, bureaucrats everywhere were touting the supposedly strong ability of the Afghanistan government to fight back against a Taliban takeover of their country. Well, it’s no longer July 21st, and as we find ourselves in the middle of August, surprise, surprise, guess what has happened? If you guessed that the Taliban had taken over this country, then unfortunately you win the $64,000 question.
Lo and behold, not four weeks after General Mark Milley had made his comments, the Taliban is now in complete control of the country. They are in a position that General Milley had never seen coming! So much for being woke! Apparently, General Milley was more focused on such things as diversity exercises and white rage.
According to Matt Gaetz, it looks like the “President” of Afghanistan has now fled to Tajikistan and Kabul is falling as we speak. To make matters worse, the U.S. Ambassador has now abandoned their Embassy, and he was one of the TOP military advisers to Biden just a few days ago.

The top military leaders of the United States last Wednesday had touted Afghanistan’s abilities to prevent the Taliban from taking over their country. This came in the middle of the territorial advances that the Taliban had made because of the United States’ decision to withdraw from the country.
General Mark Milley, the current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters during his latest joint press conference with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that it doesn’t matter if the narrative is that the Taliban is winning because the Afghan Security Forces “have the capacity to sufficiently fight and defend their country.”
“A negative outcome, a Taliban automatic military takeover, is not a foregone conclusion,” he said. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make adjustments as necessary.”
The United States began a drawdown from Afghanistan in Early May, and it is now at about 95% complete with the deadline of August 31st fast approaching. Of course, this withdrawal is valueless if the Taliban continue to make gains in territory. Oh well, at least we are “woke”, right?
