The Biden Administration has now repatriated over two dozen Cubans who are looking for refuge from their country’s oppressive communist regime. At the same time, there have been tens of thousands of illegal immigrants from other countries who have been released into the United States without even a court date whatsoever.
What Happened?
The Biden Administration issued a news release last Tuesday where they announced that the U.S. Coast Guard 7th District Southeast had reported that their crews had “repatriated 27 Cubans to Cuba…following two interdictions off Florida’s coast.”
The first of these interdictions had resulted from a “good Samaritan” that reported a 21-foot vessel that had almost two dozen occupants on board that was maneuvering about seven miles south of Key West, Florida, last Friday. The second interdiction resulted from bystanders reporting a makeshift raft on Saturday which had five people that was floating just about 15 off the coast of Islamorada.
At least all of the Cuban migrants were reported to be in good health according to the agency. They were ultimately brought aboard the Coast Guard Cutter titled the Charles Sexton in order to be processed and returned to Cuba.
“Taking to the seas on unsafe vessels is dangerous and can result in loss of life,” Coast Guard Sector Key West Commander Capt. Adam Chamie remarked in a statement. “We request all mariners to report any possible migrant voyages to help prevent loss of life at sea.”
What else?
Chamie’s statement echoed an ominous statement that Homeland Security Security Alejandro Mayorkas delivered earlier this month:
“Allow me to be clear: If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States,” Mayorkas declared in regards to the fact that it was likely that Cubans would seek refuge in America amid their homeland’s crackdown on pro-democracy protests.
“If individuals make, establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement,” Mayorkas added. “They will not enter the United States.”
Massive uprisings continue to occur on the island nation as thousands of Cubans are now taking to the streets to demand freedom for their oppressive communist regime. They are being met with a response from the Cuban government that can only be seen as totally cruel. They shut off internet access and responded with violence. These migrants will likely continue regardless of Mayorkas’ words.
What else?
You would think that sheltering individuals that are attempting to escape from a bad situation in their home country would be right up the alley of the United States and all of the liberals that are currently in control of our great country. However, for some reason the Biden Administration is being uncharacteristically harsh and headstrong in regards to Cuban refugees, even though they continue to permit countless others to the United States. Indeed, at last count, at least “50,000 migrants who crossed from the southern border illegally have been released into our country without a court date.”
