What Republicans Are Doing In Special Elections Is KILLING Democrats!

If you want to look for a sign of things to come then look no further than some of the special elections in the House and Senate here in our country. Democrats suffered a seriously demoralizing setback when they encountered an angry, motivated, and energized GOP base that utterly dominated two of the Special Elections for a Georgia House of Representatives seat. Toombs County Republican Party Chairman Leesa Hagan was in District 156 and Devan Seabaugh was in District 134, and they both swept their respective elections in a tremendous rebuke to the Democratic party and their presence in Georgia.

The margin was truly devastating. District 34 saw a Republican victory where the GOP candidate literally cleaned the Democrats’ clock, winning by margins of up to 26 points, getting 63% of the vote to the measly 37% of the vote that the Democrats received. GOP candidate Devan Seabaugh crushed challenger Priscilla Smith in the election, and about the only way to compare it would be to recall that Bert Reeves only won the seat by half that margin before he retired to go to work for Georgia Tech.

Why was this special election considered to be so significant? Well, part of the reason would have to be because it is widely seen as a dress rehearsal for the 2022 General Election matchups.

Democrats Pulling Out All The Stops But The GOP Still Dominating

It looks like Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight voting group is even getting into the act, dumping a tremendous amount of cash into the District 34 race, bashing Seabaugh mercilessly for supporting the Georgia GOP election integrity legislation. Abrams’ group also claimed that Seabaugh was planning on expanding anti-abortion legislation and increasing gun rights as well. However, even though she did the typical Democrat strategy of throwing money at a situation, she came up short and the Democrats yet again characteristically misunderstand the electorate.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the following:

“While runoff elections historically have a lower turnout than the previous race, especially in a special election, both races had more voters turn out on Tuesday than they did four weeks ago. Nearly 2,000 more people voted in the Cobb-based House District 34 contest on Tuesday than last month. More than 1,000 additional voters cast ballots on Tuesday than last month in the House District 156 election in South Georgia,”

It would certainly appear to the casual observer that the only thing that Stacey Abrams’ group accomplished was to attract more conservatives to flock to the banners of Hagan and Seabaugh. The Daily Wire noted that Stacey Abrams’ group even had several Fair Fight observers stationed at different polling sites. We were heading into the final days of the runoff, but the liberal Democrats involved in Abrams’ group hit upon a serious reckoning. The voters of Georgia are awake, and they are well aware of what happened in 2020. You can bet your bottom dollar that there is going to be a reckoning in 2022 and 2024. The GOP grassroots system is NOT interested in another election that went the way that 2020 did!
