Newsmax reporter William Kelly just finished sparring with Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot a couple weeks ago, and then a week later, he was at it again. I tell you, it’s great to see a reporter who can hold a politician’s feet to the fire for at least this particular instance. Kelly was not afraid to go after Lightfoot, and this woman just continues to recite lies about Chicago’s crime and gang problem that would put any propaganda master to shame.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot got into a testy and heated exchange with a Newsmax reporter regarding his characterization of “violent Chicago” and the reporter didn’t hold back. He actually went ahead and asked Lightfoot if she thinks that she owes the crime victims in Chicago an apology! Lightfoot did respond, but it was only to issue lie after lie with continual claims that crime has gone down in the Windy City when it really hasn’t.
The truth remains that crime in the Windy City is still out of control. According to NBC Chicago, this city is seeing a huge “spike in the crime rate” and now people are even starting to take matters into their own hands.
The first way that Lightfoot reacted was to get visibly irritated, and the second way she reacted was to get snarky. Evidently, Her Royal Highness of the Windy City is used to only getting softball liberal questions, such as “why are you such a wonderful mayor?” but of course, I’m being a bit snarky myself.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot continues to deflect any responsibility for this skyrocketing rate in crime simply because she is continually claiming that 99% of any criticism that is thrown her way is simply due to racism and sexism. During a recent interview with a local television station, Lightfoot said, “Women and people of color are always held to a different standard. I’ve been aware of that my whole entire life.” Thus, 99% of the criticism that Lightfoot receives as mayor is simply due to sexism and racism, and the only reason that her critics are motivated to speak out at all is simply because they are resentful of “seeing a woman in power.” Oh brother, Lori. This isn’t the 1950s any longer. We are resentful with seeing an INCOMPETENT person in power. Nothing more and nothing less.
Do you want to know the truth? Well, to be perfectly blunt, Lori Lightfoot has lost control of the Windy City. This began with her having lax enforcement and her simply sticking her hand in the sand regarding the crime surge. Innocent children are being shot in Chicago, and it is from the crossfire of rival gang thugs. That’s the true reality in Chicago.
According to the recent crime statistics from the Chicago Police Department, nearly 1,500 people have been shot so far in Chicago in 2021. This is a 12% increase compared to last year and an increase of 59% when you compare it to 2019.
A one-month-old baby and six other individuals were struck during gang shootouts in Chicago. These liberal policies continue to lead to a collapse of society in Chicago, with gang violence leading the way. Liberal-controlled cities across the United States are feeling the same effects. Lori Lightfoot is failing Chicago, and she has a lot of explaining to do.
Yet another tweet confirms that a 1-year-old child was shot and is now in critical condition.
Chicago continues to be a war zone, and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Indeed, yet another child was critically wounded in the Grand Crossing and Chatham neighborhoods on the South Side a few weeks ago. This little girl was only nine years old. Three other people were caught in the crossfire simply because they were between two cars in East Garfield Park on the West Side of the Windy City last Thursday.
The two men and a woman were in a vehicle that was attempting to turn on Van Buren Street from California Avenue when they were driving between two cars that were shooting at each other, according to Chicago police.
This continues to be a daily occurrence even though our media will just ignore it completely. The crime wave in Chicago and the rest of the country is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.
